Apparently, humming also stimulates the vagus nerve, which connects to mantras such as Aum.

When I first understood about 'training air hunger', my mind was blown. It works if you work it! I'm still a novice, mostly because I don't practice. These videos are excellent reminders, and I'm always gushing with appreciation when you release them. Thank you!

Your videos have helped my freediving no end, also better understand why things happen in the body by changing the way we breath for example. I must admit, before I took up freediving and finding your channel. I thought the power of breath was a lot of gibberish. But it's not, Iwhen i mention this to friends i get the same glazed look. I just wish I could even get them to try what your talking about, just once. The training in freediving, the breathholds, square breathing, visualization while on a breath up to a breath hold, and other types of breath exercises have helped my PTSD and depression no end. It really has been truly a gift. And too your self for posting your videos. Thank you

I’m trying to sort out the physiological mechanisms …. Wim Hoff Method demonstrates decreased inflammation with inducing temporary and transient respiratory alkalosis / HYPOcapnia and stimulates the Sympathetic nervous system. PARAsympathetic styles of breathing with a longer exhales also report decreasing inflammation by stimulating the Vegas nerve and produces a temporary transient respiratory acidosis HYPERcapnia state. If each method demonstrates a decrease in inflammation, what are the unique characteristics of each style producing a similar result after a period of regular practice. I would LOVE to see testing results during practice and say at 1, 2, 4, 9, and 12 hours as well as at 24 hours right before the next practice. Keep on breathing :)

What do you guys make of oxygen therapy / hyperbaric oxygen chamber use? Is it beneficial? Given you often talk of increasing carbon dioxide and it's benefits. Does that mean increasing oxygen is a bad thing?

Thanks. Usually this is all unconscious, Yes hyperventilating can be very unhelpful. And the blood flow to the brain decreases also.

Ever since I got covid I developed POTs and my heart rate variation seems to be too low. It's been more than a year that I developed these symptoms and still no luck to get them to go away permanently.

Perhaps LLTS [ low level tragal stimulation ] device such as Nurosym may work if you are not having success with the vagal enhancement manoeuvres that can be tried such as gargling, humming singing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rwiQsCKWbKY.htmlsi=r8UnOtuD9s7ToNZk

You can stimulate the vagus nerve by giving yourself an ear massage or by gargling water. There are also other methods. Helps reduce anxiety.

Good morning, Patrick. Somebody mentioned about training in breathing. Do you do those? If so, where. Or you do with books and tapes. I recently am having difficulty with my breathing, dunno how to describe what I feel, just that in most cases, my balance is compromised.. Hehe. Yes I am old, soooo old, my officemate once said, I am sooo old I f__t dust. Hope you get to read this. Thank you, Vince
