I love Byakuya so much but he is completely worthless. He has this cool power but still loses to Kenpachi who's power amounts to "hit stuff good" I see your Doflamingo pfp and Byakuya reminds me of Doffy. Doflamingo is one of my favorite one piece characters and my favorite villains but he is complete fodder compared to characters with much more boring abilities.
Byakuya is the true all-rounder; zanjutsu, zanpakuto abilities, kidou, shunpou. The only thing he doesn't really have much of a showing on is hand-to-hand combat, but it doesn't really matter. Legend status, for sure.

A billion blades might actually be his limit, his FP Zanjutsu. Over the course of the Arancar War saga, we learn the limits of his current Zanjutsu. 1 thousand Shikai blades, 100 million Bankai blades, and 1 thousand Senkei swords. correction kirohitsugi by itself inflicts tons of gravity to inflict damage, only aizens was powerful enough grravity wise to bend space and time its not a basline of the ability
I mean anything coming from aizen is going to be super amped between his insane reiatsu and hogyoku buff. Wouldn't be surprised if his shakkahou can negate ryujin jakka flames
And also kurohitsugi purest ability can bend space and time if used at it's best but it you aren't expert kiddo master you can at most do gravitational damage
I don't really do power scaling but as my favorite character in Bleach, I have thought about Byakuya. In terms of his strength among the Gotei 13 Captains, pre-TYBW, I would rank him #4. Beaten by Yammamoto, Unohana, & Shunsui. Post-TYBW I would rank him #3, beaten by Kenpatchi, & Shunsui.
Byakuya's shikai makes 1000 blade fragments while senkei makes 1000 complete swords. What if that's the x10 part and his ultimate attack goes beyond that?
Byakuya is an absoulte powerhouse of a Shinigami. Strong, fast, master with Kido, and has a powerful Shikai and Bankai. But his biggest issue that holds him back from being higher on the list of Bleach's strongest characters is that he has no hax. In CFYOW it states several times that Byakuya, Yoruichi and the novels villain Tokinada are equal in power/Reiatsu. It's also implied that Shunsui himself is either equal to them too or only a small bit stronger than them, small enough that it hardly makes a difference. So by TYBW Byakuya and Yoruichi are in the same tier of elite Shinigami alongside the likes of Shunsui, Adult Toshiro and Urahara which is backed up by statements and feats in TYBW and CFYOW. But unlike those three neither Byakuya nor Yoruichi have any hax as Byakuya's Zanpakuto is all about raw destructive power and Yoruichi doesn't use hers. If Byakuya and Yoruichi did have some hax powers like Shunsui with his Shikai games and Bankai death play, Adult Toshiro with his power to freeze matter and Urahara with his reality changing Bankai, I think Byakuya and Yoruichi would easily be on par if not above them based on how powerful they are without any hax: Byakuya could damage and 'kill' Gerard with his Shikai and Bankai but Toshiro needed to use his hax to fight Gerard, and Thundercat God Yoruichi could slap one of the strongest Schutzstaffel members - Askin - around no diff and resisted his poison better than even Oetsu and Ichigo did but Urahara needed hax and help from Grimmjow to fight Askin. Not to mention Tokinada (whom is equal to Byakuya and Yoruichi) was able to easily beat Yoruichi, Shunsui, Kensei and Grimmjow, Nel and Harribel because his hax were so OP no one could stop him. So if Byakuya and Yoruichi were to gain hax like Tokinada had then they to would be really OP. But because they have no hax they'll always be at a disadvantage even if they fight someone who has equal spirit power to them but does have hax. Case and point, Yoruichi could slap Askin around like a cat with a mouse when his hax didn't work on her but when they did she was powerless against him. Hax in Bleach often allows someone to defeat an opponent stronger than them (Hisagi against Hikone, Mayuri against Pernida etc.) and the fact that neither Byakuya nor Yoruichi have any hax is what holds them back from being above the series heaviest, non-God tier, hitters like Shunsui, Adult Toshiro and Urahara. Would love to see you do a video on Soi Fon and Yoruichi (could lump them both together in one video given how similar they are). People sleep on them way too much because Soi Fon couldn't beat BG9 and Yoruichi succumbed to Askin's poison so had to sit out the fight after forcing him to go Volstandig so we don't know how she'd of done against him at his fullest power. While it is outright stated in CFYOW that Yoruichi is equal to Byakuya so we technically already know how powerful she is, it would still be nice to see how you rank her and Soi Fon particularly, given Soi Fon is really hard to scale since she didn't really do much in the TYBW or novels.

apoilers of TYBW arc, but I personally believed that byakuya should have died by the hands of as nodt. If Byakuya had died, we would have seen character development from Rukia, wishing to avenge her brother, and Renji, who wished to rebuild the lost relationship he had with Rukia.
When the Espada say they have the best X, it's for us to understand why captains like Byakuya has to use a Shihoin move on an Espada two notches from the worst rank. Same with why Zaraki had to use both hands for Nnoritora's hierro. It justifies why they seem to be even remotely struggling with these low impact characters. The zenith of these Eapada was their Zero rank, which showed how easily the "strongest" Espada was dealt with by two captains fresh from another fight.

Nice, I personally think he's quite a lot stronger than you seem to believe especially with it being said that he would be the next cc in CFYOW, but great video none the less. Something I hope kubo does in the anime is give a bit more time to characters like byakuya who really didn't have much after the first invasion.
I'd say byakuya would win from higher IQ, variety of both offense/defense, experience, etc. However, eventually he'd probably surpass byakuya as shunsui says toshiros potential is high and he'll likely eventually surpass him.
Byakuya is one of the strongest and the most versatile captain in the Gotei at the end of the series. Let me explain: He is a master of all shinigami arts. I have only seen Azien, Urahara, Yama and the kido guy use higher kido. He has hidden speed techniques learned from Yorichi that he doesn't like using but has them in his arsenal nonetheless. As a matter of fact, Gin has the fastest zanpakto and Byakuya was able to save Rukia although he already left the area. Senbonzakura is very versatile in terms of offense and defense and these are just ah few reasons. Now why one of the strongest? Most people acknowledge Zaraki's strength; however, for the entirety of Bleach, Byakuya and Kenpachi were written as rivals but from the opposite ends of the spectrum. The nobleman and the roughian. Throughout the series, Kenpachi has only ever indicated to want to fight with: Ichigo, Unohana - whilst on her death bed was happy to know that Kenpachi could still fights with people who matched or surpassed his power. Byakuya happened to be one she thought about. Byakuya - this shows the regard that Kenpachi has for him Both Zaraki and Byakuya were used by Azien as the measuring sticks relating to Ichigo's growth. They both defeated the 0 espada together while bickering at each other They were also paired with Gerrard. Yes Toshiro was there but ONLY Byakuya and Kenpachi dealt or displayed offensive power that resulted in Gerrard 's sizes (growing) and power ups. They are the only captains to defeat multiple SR. While he may not have the raw output of Kenpachi, he makes up for it with his other abilities. So for me ...they are about even overall just in different ways. He is stronger than adult Toshiro. Why? Well, of the big 3 fighting Gerrard, he was the least damaged and drained despite being there from the beginning and being responsible for his tremendous size initially. The writer specifically drew Byakuya holding up adult Toshiro after Toshiro warned Gerrard about the repercussions of touching him in that form. Note - he also touched Rukia in her absolute zero form. This indicates that his riatsu is above Toshiro's. Now knowing of Toshiro's hax, Byakuya wouldn't allow him to use it - again, he is one of the fastest in the series. During the fight Byakuya saved Renji, Rukia and yes, Toshiro from Gerrard. Of note, Byakuya already defeated Regai Toshiro who was stronger than the original. Byakuya used Senbonzakura to break out of his ice, defeat him and continue on his way like a walk in the park. Now, while that wasn't adult Toshiro, I can also say that wasn't RG Byakuya. Byakuya is also a very level headed fighter. His battle IQ is very high and he can adapt during his fights as seen against the fullbringer. Should Bleach continue he still has room to grow especially with his versatile zanpakto. Tbh, it would be hard for the writer to come up with anything else for many of the other powerhouses but Senbonzakura is so versatile, the possibilities are endless. He could use it similar to Gaara or form constructs like a Green Lantern lol. Now i said that, what other abilities could other characters get should the series continue? Additionally, he could make a good future Captain Commander because of his power, skill, level of respect and intelligence. EOS Byakuya is slept on.

Raw power has nothing to do with those the best fighter. A guy with a bazooka has more power than a guy with a rifle. Doesn't mean the guy with the rifle cant win.
I just thought of an interesting theory. The Garganta is the infinite void of turbulent Reishi that contains all of the realms within Bleach. But what if that "turbulent Reishi" was actually the Soul King's Reishi keeping the realms in place? I think it would be an interesting question to ask Kubo on his fan club, Klub Outside. The one think that confuses me is how on God's earth did byakuya become so much stronger in between soul society and invading hueco Mundo? He gets a larger Amp than ichigo, who's by far the fastest grower in the series, who had been trained to control his hollow powers. Like it took 100+ years for byakuya to be relative to ichigo after ichgo had like a month of experience, and then suddenly the guy just surpasses him somehow?

Flaws aside, to this day i see bleach as one of the most stylistic and uniquely aesthetic anime/manga of all time. Without looking ridiculous or absurd, it achieved in making so many weapons and outfits and characters so unique and ironic.

i wouldn't quite say mayuri and toshi are stronger. toshi for sure has the potential to be way stronger, however he is not currently. while mayuri is definitely not stronger but far more dangerous than byakuya by miles. mayuri practically has the potential to beat most if not anybody in the series.
Great video but I disagree when people say ichigo beat Byakuyas ass. I would say physically byakuya was still superior in that fight but Ichigos ideals surpassed Byakuyas.

Ywach ( pretty much reality wharping + soul king reiatsu) 2. Ichigo ( mutt genetics + massive reiatsu + feats + main character) 3. Aizen ( hypnosis hax + most reiatsu + literally immortal) 4. Ichibei ( the most hax + narrative implications + reiatsu) 5. Yama ( combat iq >>>, most destructive capabilities, massive reiatsu ) 6. Gerard ( dumb hax, immortal for some reason + always gets stronger, tanked bankai kenpachi, royal training byakuya, and adult toshiro + negged shinji) 7. Lile Barro ( lower than Gerard just because being killed doesn't make him stronger, these Quincy all had stupid hax) 8. Unohana (shunsui underwent 0 training and she was stated to be the strongest aside from yama, bleach scaling is stupid but either she's here or 12th) 9. Shunsui ( bankai hax + generational talent) 10. Kenpachi. ( More reiatsu than 8 or 9 but no hax + underdeveloped bankai so in an outright fight would place lower) / uryu ( antithesis hax + scaled to hascwalth) / hashwalth ( almighty + balance hax) 11. Askin ( just doesn't have the hax of lile or Gerard but beat new form yoruichi + bankai urahara) 12. Urahara (couldn't 1v1 askin but the smartest character in the verse +broken bankai) 13. The only reason unohana and shunsui are above is because in a 1v1 straight fight I believe their superior battle iq, unique abilities, or craftiness would ultimately overwhelm kenpachi's superior reiatsu and power. So really you could argue he's 8th strongest instead of 10th but I don't personally see him overcoming shunsuis bankai, and it's Naritively implied that unohana was stronger than all of the gotei except Yama so that means she's above shunsui.
Bleach power levels are some of the most horrible yet amazing I have ever seen. Horrible because they are inconsistent and are there to progress plot Amazing because they make some of the most badass anime moments
