What I love about the Jojoverse is that while it has some power creep, it's not as bad as in other manga/anime. I also really like that in the original universe in the Stand era all villains have a consistent time manipulation power. But yeah, some Stands that seem simple are ridiculously broken if you think about them for more than a minute, which is why I love the series. It almost never nerfs an ability forcefully (well maybe Okuyasu but that's because he's not bright), Araki throws out a concept and then examines it's implications.

The real question is “How strong is Jojo from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure”

In order for any universe to beat jojo you have to ask "can they beat a power that forces you to not move if you want to fight" "Can they beat pure luck" "Can they beat someone who is inside love train" "can they beat calamity" And if they can't beat all of them jojo's wins. These are the top heavy hitters imo and jojolands could give us another rediculous power only beatable by stands.

Jojo scaling be like: AP or Durability: City level on a good day. Speed: usually MFTL with scaling. Hacks: Based.

A thing that's always bothered me about the GER is that, well, we only saw it very briefly. There might be a limit to its abilities or some exploit that would allow its power to be bypassed that Diavolo just never discovered. Remember; Silver Chariot Requiem is the same order of Stand. It is also ridiculously overpowered. Yes, it was beaten, but that's because it had a weakness. A very observant man had the opportunity to watch it and figure something out. Given time, an exploitable weakness might also be found in GER. People keep saying it's unbeatable just because it wasn't beaten in the single instance it was used. For all we know, any one of us could take it down with just the right trick.

About the Hanged Man fight thing, Polnareff wouldn't need to match the speed of light to attack it because at that moment he had aligned his attack with the trajectory of Hanged Man's movement while timing his blinking to land on his attack So Silver Chariot moving at light speed isn't a necessity and that fight only mentions that Hanged Man's mirror hopping is at light speed

I love that someone is finally talking about this. Usually when the topic of powerscaling comes up Jotaro, Giorno, and Dio are the only ones from JoJo’s that are mentioned. I understand that a lot of the reason why is because many Jojo battles are more evenly matched and require more intelligence than strength to win, but I believe that many JoJo characters could easily beat most other shonen characters for that exact reason. Kishibe Rohan, someone with a stand that has zero physical capabilities, could beat anyone just by writing that they can’t harm him. Risotto being able to turn himself invisible would be impossible to counteract without having heat seeking vision. I don’t want this to be too long so I’ll stop there, but Jojo characters definitely don’t get enough credit amongst powerscalers.

Star platinum supposedly being able to move at light speed with its punches vs Pucci who actually moved at light speed and never got hit once. I think even in terms of scaling the jojo verse would solo alot of other characters on just the technical usage of a stand. If you manage to get cheap trick to stick to you its wraps bro, you're gonna deal with him forever.

7:51 "We have Polnareff state that he knows that the stand is moving at the speed of light, and he's able to slash it." W/o context, this statement implies that Polnareff cut J'Geil's stand on his own. In actuality, he had to predict where his stand would be. Polnareff: "I'm not entirely sure how it works... but he's moving at the speed of light. That's faster than any person could see. But I knew that once the kid closes his eyes, the only place he can go to is my eye! With all that in mind, I was able to figure out it's trajectory!" Clearly, Silver Chariot only had to move faster than the speed of a closing eye, not light speed. This leads into the next point, which is... 7:57 "They also fight against The Sun, and Silver Chariot reflects all of it's sunbeam attacks like it's nothing." As established in Polnareff vs J'Geil, Polnareff was unable to see his stand's flight path on his own. With this in mind, Silver Chariot parrying The Sun's projectiles is evidence that they weren't lightspeed. If they were, Polnareff would've been helpless, since The Sun fires them off erratically.

Unrelated, but Ryu is definitely higher than Island level currently. There are multiple feats of E Honda, Gill, Akuma etc, destroying meteors that would calc at Continental to Moon level in the comics. But if you're using the games only for him, he's probably Island level

One of the good parts of jojo is that only a few characters actually are just strength based where their plot armor is “I have strong.” The most obvious examples being jotaro and part 3 dio.

ive seen some people say jotaro (jotaro himself, not star platinum) is light speed, and my god is that bullshit.

The problem with the Suns calculation is it's only taking into account the energy required to illuminate the desert, not it's attack powers. It's lasers are not very powerful as if they were mountain level one of it's lasers would have destroyed the entire surrounding area, not just the small area one of them effects. Also remember the Stardust Crusaders were powerless to stop it and had to target the user which makes the mountain level statement invalid. What also makes the physical strength of Stands questionable is the lack of large scale damage they can inflict. Stands like Star Platinum and the World (the physcially strongest stands) are able to destroy building at most. It also brings into the question the light speed of the stands as if they were able to move at light speed, the force of there attacks would be destroying everything in the vicinity yet that isn't the case. Death Battle brought this up but showed no feats that they could cite to prove it. You say Hol Horse's stand "The Emperor" shoots light speed bullets yet there are multiple thing that condradict this. We can see that it takes time to turn around and takes time to cross distances unlike Hanged Man's beam that is near instantaneous. There is also the time where Hol Horse shot into the pipes to kill Jotaro yet Ponareff had time to sneeze and Jotaro had time to move his head out the way. It seems you arbitrarilary labeled it as light speed so you wouldn't have to acknoledge how Jojo characters have dificulty reacting to attacks they don't expect. Another thing that puts Jojo characters at a level below other series is that the users themselves aren't anything special outside their tactical acumen. Unless they are a vampire or Pillar Man they, as a person, don't stand a chance against characters whose took time to train their bodies.

Jojo is not jojo because of the bizarre adventure but because of Jojo.

While I think it is possible for star platinum to scale to light speed I do not think that silver chariot does. If silver chariot was able to scale to light speed then there would be no need to restrict hanged man's trajectory, he would just be able to skewer it at any point that it is moving. Polnareff was only able to beat hanged man because he forced it to move on a specific path that he swung his sword along.

I do have to mention a couple things 1. Dio vs Jotaro was not a fair fight, because In-world Jotaro has plot armor during part 3, and Dio was fated to lose to the Joestars. If fate and plot armor were not present, Dio would have destroyed Jotaro. 2. Diavolo shows the singular best power a stand user has, you can wear your stand. He used it to hide his face, but it's better utilized as armor when fighting non stand users, because only stands can damage stands. So anyone with a humanoid stand can wear their stand as invisible perfect armor when fighting non stand users.

I hate how a lot of power scalers *DO NOT* understand what "light speed" is. They'll use examples like energy beams and plasma like the Kamehameha from DB as if they are actual light. Even Goku himself is most likely not light speed. Most stands are not light speed. Light speed means you can move faster than the eye can see. Light speed means you exist in multiple parts of someone's vision at the same time due to moving faster than their eyes can register. And no, teleportation does not count as speed. Neither does time stop. Or "shadow clone" like techniques. Light speed means you have the ability to be sitting on a chair in a city in Japan and then, between sitting up and running, you can reach the the most southern part of Africa in a second or two. That is light speed. Maybe even less.

Jotero was stronger, but he was also more tactical. It has always been my head cannon that stopping time takes a toll on your body, which is why jotero uses it as a finishing move while dio used it as an opener: since he has a healing factor he suffers no penalty for stopping time longer (11 seconds to 2) and more frequently (he literally does it like 5 times in a row during the magnet trick). So while star platinum is the stronger stand it wouldn’t have won against the world if jotero hadn’t stopped time right as dio’s time ran out. Polneref moved silver chariot so fast it bent reality to make it appear in several different places, which seems like light speed relativity to me. I totally buy that they are at lightspeed. And the argument that they move at lightspeed during time stop is wrong because if dio stabs two people with two knives, one after the other, they simultaneously get stabbed when time starts again meaning that it would be infinitely faster then light speed. On the subject of dio and knives I always liked how the knives moved when he threw them and then stopped as the skin cells that were still alive on the knife (and thus keeping it in time stop) die and the knife freezes.

GER is the only character/power in anime I can think of off the top of my head that cannot be beaten. (I was gonna include WOU but then I realized it got beaten in the story) It might not be able to win every fight depending on how tough the opponent's defense is, but it would never lose. No harm could ever come to it, and with total control of cause and effect, even attempting to harm it is fruitless. It could solo 5,000 Gokus at once.

Outside of part 3, there are a grand total of ZERO lightspeed feats, and HEAPS UPON HEAPS of anti feats to the contrary. Jotaro could have saved Jolyne and killed Pucci literally in an instant if his stand was actually lightspeed, but instead he had to choose between his daughter or the universe.

You just gassed Hol Horse. Do you understand what you've done? You've gained a fan. Hol Horse is so underrated. A lot of people sweat scale and say he's weak because Dio rattled him, but he made the right play. All his instincts as a gunman must've been telling him to pull the trigger. He had the perfect angle at point blank range. But something deep inside told him to stay his trigger finger. His instincts carried him through a surprising number of close calls and I think people don't give him enough credit at a base level just because he sometimes offers comedic relief. A lot of characters get done dirty because they're simply not the protagonists. One of my favorites is ZZ and wheel of fortune. His character is a joke, but based on his feats he's objectively not bad. I mean I wont sink so low as to bring up negative feats involving normal cars hurting stand users, as it's usually just a plot device. But ZZ was pressing the assembled forces of our protagonists. 1 v 4. Zero credit though. Because Jotaro humiliated him. But that's not a huge anti-feat IMO. There's a ton of strong characters that Jotaro humiliated. ZZ is underrated. My head cannon is that he was the ambulance that ran over Kira, fulfilling his prophecy that he would be the protagonist of the next Jojos part. He's the only character with confirmed meta knowledge of the Jojo's verse. So it's entirely possible.

The Sun calc is the stupidest thing ever. Sorry to be rude about it. Look, the sun does little more than heat an area and shoot beams, it's not proven that it can attack with the combined energy its whole body generates, that makes no f*cking sense. You can't just say that the beams it shoots have the combined energy its whole body generates, any extension of any being ever only has the energy spread in that extension as it separates from the body, which holds the rest of the combined energy one has; this applies to anything, a punch, a kick, shooting stuff, etc. You don't punch with the whole energy your whole body uses, you punch with part of that. In fiction maybe the combined energy one's whole body generates is a feat that scales to one's regular attacks, sure, but only when that's proven to be the case, not inherently. This bs is a common thing is Vs, people doesn't get why other series gets to have something like that and applies the same as if it was a rule to their own series to claim it to be stronger without the same substance behind the claim. The World is stronger than the Sun, sure, so what. If DIO wasn't weak to sunlight and The Sun wasn't made of plasma, an attack from The World to the Sun would rip it apart because its power is much higher than the durability of the tiny area of the Sun it hits. It's a pretty big Stand and that's an advantage, but size has nothing to do with the durability of every part of one's body; every fist-sized part of one's body. Surely you don't think every small part of the Sun's body has Mountain level durability just because of a calc having it so its whole body in general gives off that much power. The only thing The World has to be stronger than is the beams the Sun can shoot, whose power can be whatever. And on the faster than light stuff. Yes, yes, they're that fast, the issue comes with the calcs having them be hundreds of times faster than light because of how this contradicts the narrative. You kinda sugarcoated it and didn't go over it, so I won't do so as well, but you did comment on how Emperor's bullets would be vaguely at that level. So, you know, the issue with SC being hundreds of times faster than light is that those bullets would too be hundreds of times faster than light as well, with SC being comparable in speed, able to tag a tiny bullet, yet Pol saying that no one would be able to react to lightspeed regardless of how Hol Horse did just that to move his bullet away from SC's slash. Emperor's bullets being faster than Hanged Man's lightspeed travel speed makes no sense.
