When a RU-vid channel run by one guy with less than 5,000 subscribers has better editing and use of music than a summer blockbuster with a $175 million budget
Thanks for pointing for out one of the biggest problems with this movie that most people don't seem to notice. Your Guardians compariosn is also heavily justified and I also felt that the recent Rogue One film tried to ape off some of the same ideas although not as blatantly as Suicide Squad. A movie with so much potential, seriously your idea of rappers making songs about Gotham and the Joker is so genius, but nope just continously shove obvious, unnecesary classic songs for no reason.
Its a damn shame some of the best soundtracks ever weren't mentioned or talked about in dept. Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Judgment Night, anything Tarantino, The Crow, Rivers Edge, Natural Born Killers, American Psycho. The key to a good soundtrack is contrast. Like what type of music is playing in Blue Velvet (a really dark film)? A bunch of oldies song ( Easy Listening, Blues). What was playing in Pulp Fiction? It was Surf Rock and R&B. Soundtracks are an amazing thing. And let's not forget how Huey Lewis will forever be associated with Patrick Bateman.
i would love warner bros coming out with a video about why they do the shit they do. it seems like theyre just a bunch of old people thinking young people are stupid, and would fall for cheap art like they fall for cheaply made sneakers
Hey, SS had a great soundtrack, no movie, but my love of the music is a parallel to the Spawn soundtrack... They both got two unrelated popular, not pop acts and let them collaborate and it kills... And is underrated m Also comic books. If anyone else knows what I'm saying, am I off or !??
I actually like suicide squad on my initial viewing, despite no story and how short it was - like fuck why was Joker even in this movie with a two hour run time and another what the fuck is how in the FUCk did David Ayer only have 15 minutes of extra material to go with? on the second time thro for me this is how I felt. Even on the "extended cut", I was thinking, Man I love these classic songs but what in the fuck do they have do with the score and this movie? also in a bit of a side note - I know that BVS was wholly disliked but the Extended Cut actually made the movie tolerable and I could have watched a 3.5 hour version adding more of Luthor and Wonder Woman. i don't know how others feel on the subject but I want super long DC and MARVEL movies it would give the writer and directors some time to work with the material. Second side note would be that Joss Whedon's Age Of Ultron had an 3 hour and 15 minute original run time and it had to be cut down in what I feel is the real problem are the studios and their wontoness for this 2 hour mellow-drama fest that only ludites, fools and morons can handle. Now I know neither movie are great but only 2 hours for a fucking Suicide Squad origin story, I right now am thinking a 10 part mini series on HBO, Showtime or Netflix would've been better!
