Being 173cms in height which is about 5'7" I face a bit of challenge when I am stopped at a traffic light or on an incline riding the 2021 BMW R1250GS Adventure. Sharing this video here as a reference for anyone looking to see how the seating position is on the BMW R1250GS Adventure when you are challenged with your height.

I'm 5'5 1/2" tall and I've had a GSA, Multistrada, Desert Sled and various dirt bikes over the years. It's all about balance and leverage when riding and picking the bike up from a fall. Over the years I only had one problem with the bike went over in a rut on an incline. When I tried to lift the bike the tire would hit the wall. Leverage won out but it took about 8 or so tries to get the bike up. That was with my Multistrada. With the GSA and the boxer motor, the bike doesn't go flat, so it will be a lot easier to lift. Don't get intimidated if you are vertically challenged.

I'm a little taller than you (5'11") and had an Africa Twin. Approx the same seat height. Had it in for service and the Honda dealer had a 2018 Goldwing on the floor. Since I had time to kill he let me take it for a demo ride. Bought the next day. For me, so much more comfortable riding, standing still and getting on/off. Really didn't feel the height when moving. But I was never going to go off road so bought the Goldwing and never looked back. But for the adventure you have planned, the 1250 is the perfect bike.

I agree with you. The comfort that GoldWing brings no other bike has that but for the purpose I bought the 1250 for this is the best one.

100% Amer! Always thinking. Bike looks fantastic. Love the color. Although minor, it does help. Is the bike’s saddle in the low position? The other is, one can purchase the factory lowered suspension model. Although the suspension travel will be reduced. Not ideal for the intended purpose of a full-one, go anywhere Adventure touring motorcycles. But something to ask the dealer about. Awesome job here. Thanks for demonstrating. Thank you! The saddle is in low position. I have ordered the rubber bushings from Wunderlich that go under the seat and replace the OEM ones. That will lower the height by 10mm so should get a bit better and then will replace the seat with an aftermarket softer and lower one in future. Hopefully these 2 changes will help. I didn't want to go with the factory lowered suspension model for the reasons you have mentioned. Hopefully it won't take me too long to get used to this. Ride Safe!

Hi Amer , I'm about 5'8" but have a 29inch inseam . I was tippy toed also on my K 1600 GT , I almost fell over in my own driveway when I hit a patch of dirt, backing the bike out of the garage. I feel a lot safer on my Goldwing, it's about an inch or so shorter . That little bit made a lot of difference for me. I'm sure the GSA is a lot liter than the the K 1600 ,so you should have better luck with your bike . Ride safe Amer. Remember rubber side down.

Great demonstration. I’m only 5’6; therefore, many bikes are simply not an option for me. The Gold Wing actually sits lower than my VMAX…so I look forward to that.

I am 5'6" and have a 2021 GSA factory Low and it is perfect. Seat in High position for more comfortable seating position.

I rented a BMWgs750 for a 12 day tour in Italy. I’m 5’6” and must say that I hate the height of this bike! At home in the states, I drive a old Kawasaki and can sit at a traffic light with both feet flat. It’s 100% more comfortable! I’m only two days in, so maybe I’ll get more used to this giant of a motorcycle but I kind of hate this thing! 😫

Hi Claude, what a small world...I absolutely remember you and was so great to ride with you that day. It's so nice to hear from you. Once you left the ride back home was long as I took few stops and was extremely tired towards the end. I was finally relieved off the pain after 2 months. How have you been? Hi Catalina, thank you for watching the video. I had to make some adjustments for the GSA to suit my needs. The first one was getting a sargant low seat with a back rest. It took me about 2000kms of riding to break in the seat but now I absolutely love it. I feel over time you also get used to riding the bike and it's just perfect. Are you looking to purchase one? I'm happy to hear that with time it gets better, it is indeed a monster bike :) I am looking to purchase one, yes. In fact, it's on its way to the local BMW branch from where I'll pick it up soon :) Really excited by it, only thing I am concerned off is the seat height, but I think with time, as you say, you get use to it. It just depends what you have been riding in the past. Try sitting on the lower suspension one and see how comfortable you are.

Overall height doesn't matter.inseam height matters.whats your inseam height and is the bike in stock height

It is 890-910mm. If you order a low seat which depends on where you order it, the height could be around 850mm.

I think its not about your height , its the skill ..how u r handling the bike , I have seen people tall as you could ride their adventure bike in an outdoor and shorter guys ,were able to manage ..
