Great stuff Gio, the 3D was a really nice touch, and they most certainly doubled down on destroying the legacy characters… by also doing it to Obi Wan.

Another issue is Din and Grogu are reunited too early. In our world it would have been two years since we last saw them together, in canon it would have been anywhere from a couple of weeks till a couple of months. It just doesn't pack a punch. It feels like Disney added this in only so they can keep Grogu relevant for toy sales

the thing about the finale that made me ost furious was the characters being able to hide behind a 20 cm sandstone wall from supposed super powerful super dangerous death robots. A fucking WW2 tank wouldve shredded them faster than those droids

One thing i think you missed that i really disliked was that they never explained hiw boba became the crime lord. He gets his ship, kills some raiders, and the story switches th the mandelorian. I do think adding the mandalorian did help the book of boba fett, but adding grogu definitely will hurt mando season 3.

Yeah I agree. I wanted Grogu to stay with Luke. But they just couldn’t help themselves and have their precious baby Yoda be separated from the main character. The entire purpose of Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 means nothing now.

The only bit of criticism i have about your idea for the rancor is that the first being a baby rancor sees feels for them like its their mother The rest is sadly completely accurate

I completely agree with this entire video. No plot, no character, no competence. The Book of Boba fails across the board and deserves to be redone. At least the Mando was impressive.

These were all the pet peeves I had about this show and there are still tons more like how Boba was nice before spending time with the Tuskens so the flashback contributed almost nothing to his character. Good job explaining them! I'll like to pretend that Boba died in the Sarlacc and a clone with no age acceleration took his armor and impersonated him this whole time.

Dude, I give a big thumbs up to your new robot chicken animation! Really sells the initiative for your videos! Anyways, I got no arguments about your points here. This show killed my faith that Disney will make a fantastic live-action Star Wars show in the future. What's upsetting is that I was actually looking forward to Boba Fett having his own show since he's obviously my favorite bounty hunter in Star Wars. I found it intriguing at first when Boba trying to be a crime boss, but then my investment was lost around the midway point, especially in episode 5. Not to mention it might've also just destroyed any chance of The Mandalorian doing something new to keep it from getting repetitive. Also, I think it also did serious damage to Ahsoka's character judging by how distant and detached she's been acting, specifically when she told Mando to not see Grogu. She doesn't have her own show yet and I'm already losing faith in it. But then again, Ahsoka really should've just died back in Rebels season 2. One more thing. This might sound dumb coming from me......But I think the South Park character, Eric Cartman would make a better and more ruthless crime boss on Tatooine than Boba ever was. Now listen, I admit that's a really bizarre idea since I'm talking about a kid from an adult cartoon being in a live-action Star Wars show. In fact, it would still be an inconsistent mess. But I can't help but imagine what Cartman would do if he was running Tatooine. He would be making everyone do nasty things, but it would be much more entertaining than Boba being a buffoon. Though that kind of story would be better away from Disney since Cartman works best as a rated "M" character.

I wanna touch on a point you made at the end. There's a team responsible for keeping canon consistent called the Lucasfilm story group. Problem is, they just spend their time with their thumbs up their asses and don't give a shit about canon, since the "story is more important than continuity," even though a) they should both go hand in hand and b) none of Disney Star Wars has shown us a prime example of that.

The reason Disney Star Wars is so inconsistent is because the people making them half the time aren't even Star Wars fans... They just make it for the money.

Someone sent me this video (Im known as a boba fan and actually liked BOBF wasn’t amazing but liked some episodes) And you got good points here and I loved the opening lmao, but the finale showed Boba blasting down pykes, riding a rancor, also him killing all the speed bikers with slave 1 was pretty cool. I feel like the reason he went back to the tribe after killing Machamp was because of some sense of honor I guess, I mean the tribe would’ve hunted him down again lets be honest and maybe killed him. But showing he saved a youngling put some favor into being accepted with the tuskens? I dont have a good reason to be honest lol. I feel like the whole Tusken storyline slowly changing Boba into more of Jango Fett more honorable again wasn’t executed well which made people not like Bobas change. Thats my point of view of it, Im going to continue watching your video since I do definitely enjoy the animatics lol- Diyar EDIT: I absolutely loved your episode 3 re-edit! I think if they had advertised the BoBF as an anthology series about different characters like Tales of the Jedi did, it might have MAYBE worked. Advertising it as a Boba series really didn't work.

It makes sense why they would try to change Boba's character. I'm not sure if many people know this, but the Mandalorian was originally supposed to be a Boba Fett show, but Disney said no because Boba was dead. So they created Din Djaran, someone who was similar to Boba but different. And it wasn't until the success of the Mandalorian that they then greenlit Boba being brought back to life. Many fans would have been upset that Din and Boba would have seemed like the same person so they tried to change Boba. So the way I see it, The Book of Boba Fett is kind of the consequences of Disney's actions.

The only answer i have for Boba suddenly deciding to not escape, is that he up until then had forgotten that he is on Tatooine. Which means nothing for desert, for thousands of kilometers, depending on the direction you go, and when he finally had the chance to flee, he realized that he would simply dehydrate out in the desert and die. So either, he is an idiot for not realizing the fact up until then, or he is a moron for trying to escape while knowing this was the fact.

Me to the Book Of Boba Fett upon watching Ahsoka: Perhaps I treated you too harshly

To be fair to the desert scene maybe it was a little too harsh for boba to cross so his best efforts were to be put in the trust of the raiders coming back to them and hoping for freedom and even with his the understanding of their culture ( with him at least nowing the language and maybe meeting some before ) he would of had know they would not just let a slave escape that easy and come looking for him( like many slavers in real life ). He would also know that the tribe would be fully aware that the tribe would respect him as a warrior who is not as timid as their usually slave and give him a rank up. Now I do understand you could say why didn't he just try for the bikers and their speed bikes well like I said they would of looked for him and also the weapon he had from the young raider would be of no use since he was not as skilled in it yet. But also the show could of explained something like this to the audience if it makes sense and this is assume the tree where he got the wood from is not that far disproving how harsh the desert is given he was high as well.

Bobo Fett in GL era a man who made Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith someone who cut down unarmed children, Tusken Raiders, and anyone who got in his way .. who calmly watched the Death Star obliterate a planet ... Darth Vader made a point to tell Bobo Fett to tone it down. And then Disney took this character and made him ... even The Emporer cringe at how Disney's choice to murder of Bobo Fett is a bit extreme.

Please do one for the Obiwan show too. I think it still isn’t that good but it had very amazing moments.

Nice job on the video and the 3D animation, Gio. :) The Book of Boba Fett was a major misfire. It's easily the worst Star Wars show they've put on Disney+ so far. There's one thing I think you misunderstood, though: Boba Fett stays with the Tusken raiders (at least initially) out of necessity. When the Tusken raiders find him, Boba has nothing. It's obvious that he could easily overpower the child, but where would he go? What would he do? The importance of a created family for survival forms the backbone of the show. For the record, I hates the flashbacks, too. I think they could've had half an episode of flashbacks to get the same idea across, and then spent the rest of the time in the present, and the show would've been better for it. There would've still been problems, but it would've been an improvement.

I’m pretty much on board with everything you are saying. The one thing I want to question a little is the idea that Boba has a solidly established character in the current cannon before this show. There were things that were suggested that were fleshed out into solid characterization in what is now legends and in our own heads (which is where the very best Star Wars stories exist if we are honest about the history of the franchise). Problems like this come from Lucas and the Star Wars executives to ignore and actively try to contradict Legends (rather than just using the best of it to make a coherent movie cannon MCU style). That sets up the precedent that the writers of this show can and even should treat Boba like a brand new character rather that the Boba of legends (which is the version that people really like). That being said, I think this becomes a much better show if they put Boba in Fennecs role, as someone who seeks to be the muscle behind the leader and not the leader himself. It makes sense that the stoic Boba would not want the spotlight that comes with being the Daimyo but might want the money power and respect that comes from being the Daimyos right hand. He might have gotten a taste of that working for Jaba and wants to return to that role, just with someone who is less sadistic. He doesn’t want to work for someone who might feed him to the rancor. So, who does he pick, Cobb Vanth of course. He is a natural leader, loyal and understands that sometimes dirty work is necessary. Only Cobb has these ideas about being a different kinds of Daimyo that earns respect. Boba still want to make it work. He just has to be the Yang to balance Cobb’s idealistic Ying and convince him when it’s time for the dirt to get done. Fennec is willing to go along and help Boba and his Manchurian candidate, but does hide the fact that she just might kill them both if things fall apart. Boba can live with those odds. Better?

Honestly, i'm not THAT big a Star Wars fan, but ever since I was a kid, Boba Fett was one of my favorite characters in anything ever. The child inside of me died a little bit to see how his character was assassinated by Disney and all his previous legendary bounty hunter traits given to their in house great-value bounty hunter... It really is a shame, castrating, humiliating and otherwise doing a disservice to one of the most beloved cult characters of all time... Really Disney should be ashamed, and clearly in this turd of a show, as well as other media, they have shown that nothing is sacred, they don't care about the fans, and Star Wars is a rotting corpse being fed upon by corporate vultures. You really do hate to see it.. Would have been better if Boba died in the sarlaac pit.

I like the 3d art style approach to your video format, but I think the model looks a bit jankier than your live action/2d models I think if you give it cell shading and created the illusion of it being a 2d model, that would allow for a higher quality model with less necessary work on how it looks.

Just wanted to point out, (not that I expected any less from the writers) but the scene where Luke offers Grogu, Yoda's lightsaber, just bugs me. Yoda looses his lightsaber after he lost to Darth Sidious in Revenge of the Sith. In the Vader comic book (which is canon) theres a panel in which the Empire is rounding up all the lightsabers from the dead Jedi, and smelting them down. One of the lightsabers in that panel was Yodas lightsaber. So how tf does Luke just have Yodas lightsaber, when its been canonically been destroyed?! I know this is the least of this shows problems, but good lord! Can't they at least know/understand their lore and whats canon/non-canon? 🤦‍♂️

I will say that your characterization of why people like Cad Bane isn’t entirely correct. Sure he’s cool looking and has a good VA. However people who watched Clone Wars would know he is actually very competent and clever. He is good at planning, excellent at improvising, and quick at the draw. If anything I’d argue he’s probably more clever than either Boba or Jango simply because he has to be. Sure the other two are great at the same things, but they have armor in case things get a little rough. Bane does all his jobs while dripped out as a space cowboy.

With all the disrespect Boba Fett gets, maybe instead of trying to become the head of Space Japan, he should instead find away off the planet and go to Space Tahiti

I was always more fascinated with characters like Jango Fett and especially Durge who had an awesome introduction in the superior 2D Clone Wars show from the early 2000's and had a far bad ass death in the comic books. it really is such a shame that Star Wars became such an abomination under Disney's control that it makes me rather just stick with the old stuff instead before the darker times that is Disney Wars. I say Disney Wars since I absolutely refuse to call this cinematic abortion Star Wars. if it can't respect the audience intelligence, then it doesn't deserve to be called Star Wars. Hell, I would rather watch both Tron Legacy & Tron Uprising, the last decent things released by Disney in my eyes, than ever watch a new Disney Wars show and/or movie ever again. if you folks want a continuation of Boba Fett after ROTJ that actually respects his character and does clever & smart things with him, do yourselves a favor: forget this poorly written garbage and go seek out the EU stories instead. they actually gave a shit about him in those stories and did a far better job in continuing the Star Wars saga than any of the recent films.
