I've never seen a jump like this. Lamar from 2018 to 2019 was close, but Hurts this year literally went from a bottom 20 passer to Top 5 In every single metric. Incredible. #FlyEaglesFly Lets beat NYG
@@thomassankara1391 only took him being surrounded by a super team to play like a top 10 qb. more of a reflection of the talent around him than his own.
Whenever I watch breakdowns like this I pray and beg that the NFL will do all 22 camera angle broadcasts sometime in the future. So much better when you can see the route combos develop and the defense trying to make a play on it opposed to "wow he was so open how did that even happen"
This page is so freaking underrated. Been watching football my whole life, the only guy who breaks down tape like this dude is Baldinger. This is the best sports content on RU-vid and better than anything on TV
The fact that the Eagles even letting opposing teams know they're making the same plays over and over again is like a slap on the D's face. It's frustrating and demoralizing knowing they couldn't stop it.
Just found this channel yesterday, and I'm so glad I did. I'm excited to watch through the playoffs and spend the following offseason going through the backlog. Keep putting in work 🙏
Hurts took such a huge leap forward and what I saw in this video was a lot of great throws. Most of the time coverage was pretty good so I give most of the credit to Hurts.
Thanks to your analysis, I have to say I've started to follow more NFL storylines than I used to. Appreciate your thoughtful deconstruction of the game. Looking forward to your offseason thoughts!
Well I am certainly disappointed... that I didn't discover this channel until now. Ah well, I've got a few days to go back and watch all the Eagles vids for this season.
That cowboy game gotta give credit where credits do that was Gardner throwing the ball perfectly into AJs hands just sayin..I'm born an bred Iggles fan for almost 40yrs now. But yes Shane is a great play caller.
There was a Redskins SB (on YT) where they kept running counter trap, and it was unstoppable. Over and over and over. By the 3rd Qtr, the announcers were saying things like, "You'd think the defense would recognize that play by now" and "I'm guessing they're about to run a counter trap." This was the legendary Hogs O line, and Riggins. So, knowing what play they were going to run didn't matter. I think the Eagles have a legendary O line like that in this SB, but they have THREE good RBs, plus Hurts, plus a deadly pass attack. (Now let's hope this comment ages well, LOL!)
You played a sorry giants team , and a beat up SF team who threw in the towel . 3.3 yards per carry and 90 yards passing- 30 for the incompletion and flags to keep the offense going is hardly impressive
Steichen running the same play over and over due to its success has merits considering the strength of the O-line. The physicality can take a toll on the opposing D-line and if they aren't built for that/are too small, they get run ragged by the 2nd half. Especially in the playoffs where the simple consistent things with physicality and tackling add up in all 4 quarters.
I don't know players names from teams I don't follow, so it would be helpful if when you say a person's name you could highlight the person so that I don't lose the rest of the play trying to locate or guess whom you're discussing. Thank-you
you think that running a double move on digs would work everytime? out of 10 times how many times does it work? i was just thinking about it and wanna see y’all’s opinion.
I can confidently say Ben Johnson elevated the offense in Detroit. I’m not entirely sure I can say Shane elevated the players in Philly. Makes me nervous as a Panthers fan.
Ben Johnson had an equally talented tier for his O-line to have his RBs run through for his schemes. Ragnow is just as talented/athletic as Jason Kelce but younger. Sewell arguably is the best run blocking tackle behind Trent Williams. They gave Goff clean pockets so he got to do more what he's great at than seeing pressures on 3rd down and checking it down. Granted Amon Ra St.Brown is the only consistent receiver threat he had but there are young guys who are improving. Part of why Steichen had success play calling is the improved talent and depth to work with Siriani's gameplan to attack defenses.
I'm wary of the Eagles and Hurts at the moment only because the majority of their regular season games were against teams that ended the season with losing records or missed the playoffs, and two of the playoff teams they faced (giants and jags) only barely made it with 9-7-1 and 9-8 records respectively, followed by playing the Giants again in the divisional round, then a 49ers team that literally had no QB for most of the game. Their defense got completely destroyed by KC as I watched KC's running back and Kelce get 10 yard gains virtually every play while the Eagles D couldn't get any sacks or pressure what so ever. Granted the Eagles offense played very good and Hurts looked like a superstar in that SB, but the Eagles are gonna have to do great again this season with the top strength of schedule for me to really believe they're as legit as they seem.
Can we not say “embarras.” Defense is extremely difficult to play these days. They have to account for so much bs we never had to even consider back in the day
I didn't know that it was illegal to push the runner, often at the goaline when the runner appears to be stopped, then the OL pushes them over the goaline. But for field goal blocks, it's illegal to use leaverage... it is interesting to see indeed what the competition commitee sees. In the CFL, there is a short yardage/goaline QB on the roster. But they have a full 1 yard on neutral zone, so it is really easy to QB sneak. When Arizona signed the Winnipeg QB Chris Strevler, I thought that they were bringing this kind of "special team" in the NFL, but it didn't happened.
Anyone who calls Diggs a great corner has very different priorities than I do. Diggs is a big play machine, for both teams. Refuses to play fundamental football! No one cares but damn I dislike his play
Hes a very high risk, high reward type of Db if he wasnt the best corner in dallas then hed be that backside guy in the formation. It is a role that he would really excel at.
You've not watched enough Diggs tape this year, there is a maturation in his game and he's been less gambley and more solid. He's still incredibly young and the skills he's shown so far make him a premiere corner. It's a high variance position remember, most DBs maybe see 90 throws at them a season - and this is all that is shown on the broadcast angle. We dont get to see every snap they forced a QB to go somewhere else, or where the safeties should have been. Dan Quinn has played a lot of man coverage this season because he believes in Diggs and his play has backed it up. You dont play Man at the cowboys rate without having a very good top corner.
This is not scheme this is talent when u scheme u can do it with any personal these set ups are just individual talent to beat its opponent 1 on 1 we'll see if the eagles can put another offensive yr together in 2023 your not great cuz u have 1 good yr, string some yrs together like Andy Reid and Eric B. has done without tyrick hill or a running game that's offensive scheme
mr . stichen ... could not do what he does with out the players ... ( that's what i seen in this video ... no players ... no success ... ( by the way ... excellent videos and explanations ... )
Shut your up bro! Said hurts is top 5? So he's better than mahomes, burrows, Dak, mahomes, Allen? Because that is the top 5. Malik Wilks would be better on that eagles team. Hurt has the most talent in nfl history this year and can't even win 15 games.
