Moral of the story: Flood > Everything

This would actually be a fantastic setting for a flood horror game. Being like, an elite minor, or a released marine prisoner, surviving inside High Charity for the 38 or so days of it being infected, going down the Commons area, and other Covenant civilian structures, with each day leading to more flood biomassed areas, and stronger flood foes, with less or more... 'rebelized' Covenant soldiers like the SPV3 had with their remade flood levels. More or less the goal would otherly be, find a space worthy vehicle to escape the flooded city, or lone wolf style, survive as long as you can. What do you guys think about this idea?

Had the great schisim never happened, the flood would have lost quickly. The Gravemind must have known about what was happening when Tartarus tried to kill Thel. Had the prophets not been retarded, High Charity would never have fallen, and most likely taken itsself, and the entire fleet, to earth and finished humanity off.

This just makes Cortana's gambit in Halo 3 all the bigger. The Sangheilli could never hold quarantine around High Charity indefinitely, if they screwed up just once it would be Galactic extinction, hell they did screw up once, hence why a carrier got to Earth. Cortana using the torture the Gravemind inflicted on her to get it overconfident and send its entire army of flood to the Ark, that is next level. Like seriously, she outsmarted a freaking Gravemind! Damn girl, that is not easy! Bigger AI have tried and failed

2:33 This is one of my Favorite storylines in Halo 2, the Civil War between the Brutes and Elites, it’s so interesting, and it’s funny that the Covenant couldn’t fight the Flood very effectively because they were fighting each other. I Love the mission where the Covenant fight each other on High Charity, it is one of the Best Missions ever.

High charity is my favorite place in the halo universe. It has so much mystery and greatness. It has so many places that were unexplored that would've been cool. Halo 2 has the best locations in the halo universe in my opinion

Ok 2 things I wanna say and speculate on. First the UNSC In Amber clad had almost all of its troops deployed to the library and the sentinel wall. They were all infected and most likely ambushed arriving pelicans. Or seeing as how the gravemind teleported the chief aboard high charity he was probably able to teleport flood onto the human ship as well seeing as it was much closer to the ring than high charity was. Second I know in halo 3 the flood infected ship that crashed on earth made a few jumps in system as well and it was even stated that high charity jumped to mars orbit before jumping to the ark. So I'm curious if the gravemind deployed any flood to mars as well as a backup or to hide there. If you really know halo lore then you'd know what I'm talking about.

It was kinda weird there were so many human flood forms on High Charity when it got infected, perhaps because chief was close to the crash site but still I think Bungie should had made it for the human forms to be the few ones present there.

It's amazing how over the course of like 30 minutes in game between Gravemind and High Charity the Flood completely over run the entire station. Their screams still haunt me xD

Covenant or not, I still feel bad for High Charity and its victims. Lots of xenos called it home. Losing home's a pain like no other, and humanity in Halo knows that feeling all too well.

My favorite halo 2 missions was on the high charity

Cortana is not infected by the logic plague, she is obviously being controlled by 343 Guilty Spark. Why else would she want installation 04c in the Halo Wars 2 ending? Also, Cortana is blue, and do you know who else was blue? Guilty Spark! And Spark was alive after Halo 3 and he took control of a UNSC ship to search for the librarian, so he could easily take control of cortana too!

The idea of the flood turning rotted flesh into habitable structures is really sickening when you think about it. Also the fact that you don’t really die when you get infected, your mind and thoughts become part of a grave mind is haunting. At least with regular zombies, you get infected/die, and that’s it. But to be assimilated by an ancient plague and not being able to rest just never leaves my mind as an adult. (never thought about that as a kid or a teenager) I love halo :) [the first three/reach/ODST that is...]

My question is how was the ark even habitable after the high charity crash something of that size should’ve sent so much ash into the atmosphere-that you could not breath there

Don't forget about how the flood also can flush their spores into the ventalation systems just like on Installation 04, according to the Flood novel when Guilty Spark and Master Chief were in the Library.

so if the flood didnt infected high charity the covenant would have alot more power and troops and prob wouldnt have besn destroyed in halo 5

the story of cortanna going insane has always been that the grave mind caused early stages of rampancy, ive not heard or seen any other information from the games so I don't know where the confusion is or what story he is referencing in halo 5

The Great Schism was more like a plot or crisis for the Sangheili part of the Covadent and for the Jiralhanae part of the Covadent it was a Great mission. Which yes lead to an Armed Struggle against the Jiralhanae and Sangheili.

did anyone know that theres a glitch in halo 2 on the level high charity where the carrier forms that are standing on the crashed pelican you see cannot move at all meaning you don't have to shoot them and any possible infection forms will be stuck in that state for as long as nothing happens to the carrier forms

The word dope wouldn’t even begin to describe how awesome a game would be to be placed on High Charity and you’d have to survive while the flood infected it in real time. You’d have pretty much full reign over the entirety of High Charity. You could be just a civilian or an elite or even a brute. It could start out with the great schism and slowly the fighting would transition on the flood. All sorts of fucked up shit and the forerunner ship would take off and other events would happen all while you’re on High Charity and surviving the hordes of the flood. So much messed up stuff could be witnessed as well as many awesome and badass moments

Wish they would do a mission of this where you play as a elite and have over a few squads of elites grunts and hunters trying to get the wemon and children out and in the few missions show elites fight the brutes and flood and trying to find other survivors to get them out of the city to the drop ships and after you save them you and what left of your team get out of there

5:00 it is well established in the halo universe (well before halo 4) that AI goes rampant after 7 or so years in service. It's a bug in their programming that can't be fixed.

Thinking about it now remember halo 2 when you went into high charity and got cortona into the main control system we was in the center of high charity but in halo 3 Cortana was in a rogue covenant battle cruiser that chip couldnt be the original cortona chip. Cortona could have made a copy of herself and had it escape. This is a what if moment of course. If so this is true then the real cortona could be on high charity which is how she came out and took over the guardians cause high charity crashed on the ark with the logic plague she could just transfer herself into forerunner control room and got to work
