hey Jessie, I'm glad I was able to join the wonderful community for the premiere of another one of your amazing videos. the knowledge you have about the oceanos is stunning. either way keep up the great work. Sincerely Damien
Sorry I should have added more detail here. It's because that's what he told the investigators in 1991. But the stories from many of the crew seem to conflict with other testimonies so it's hard to say if that's what really happened. I personally believe his testimony as it makes logical sense to turn off the generators in the situation they were in.
The whole logic behind it has to do with the fact the room housing the generators was rapidly flooding. Leaving them running would have been inherently dangerous as water and electricity do not mix. Anyway, 10 minutes after the power was shut off, the backup generators (not in the generator room) were activated. This restored some power and activated the emergency lights. Hope that answers your question.
Hey! Im drawing oceanos and wondering if you could help me add it to floating sandbox. I know how but getting the plans correct, replyvifvyour interested
Hi! Thanks for asking, the story of the sinking and the almost insurmountable odds the everyday people/passengers and staff had to face when it sank is probably what dragged me into this the most. And being able to have the opportunity to speak with so many of the survivors + people involved with this has also been a factor.
