Kings and Generals began remaking its animated historical documentary on the history of the Ottoman empire with the early rise of the Ottoman beylik under Osman I. In the first video we covered the early origins of the beylik, its status among the Muslim states in Anatolia and its early clashes against the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire at Bapheus and Dimbos in 1302 ( • Rise of the Ottoman Em... ). The second episode showed how a tiny beylik became a regional power with the continued battles against the Byzantine empire and other states, including the siege of Prusa (Bursa) between 1317 and 1326 and the battle of Pelekanon of 1329 ( • How the Ottomans Took ... ). As the Ottoman entered the Balkans, they had to face the Serbian Empire and the Second Bulgarian Empire, leading to the battles like Maritsa in 1371 ( • Maritsa 1371 - End of ... ). The Ottomans continued expanding both in Europe and Asia, leading to the conflicts with many states, including the Karamanids, culminating at the battle of Frenkyazisi in 1387 ( • Ottoman Expansion in A... ). As the Ottomans managed to defeat their enemies in Anatolia, they now had time to fight against the burgeoning Balkan alliance that formed against them with Lazar Hrebeljanovic of the Moravian Serbia at its head. His confrontation with the sultan Murad I would led to the battle of Kosovo in 1389 ( • Battle of Kosovo 1389 ... ). In the aftermath of Kosovo, Bayezid I takes the power and continues campaigns both in Anatolia and the Balkans. The events in Anatolia culminate at the battle of Kirdilim of 1391, where the Sultan defeats his Turkic opponents led by Kadi Burhaneddin. This episode also describes how the Ottomans became the sultans of Rum getting the title of the Seljuks and the crusade preparing against them. In this series we are planning to cover every major battle of the Ottoman empire, including Kosovo, Nicopolis, Ankara, Varna, 2nd Kosovo, Constantinople, Belgrade, Targoviste, Otlukbeli, Vaslui, Valea Alba, Skanderbeg's rebellion, Breadfield, Krbava, Otranto, Chaldiran, the Ottoman-Mamluk War of 1516-1517, siege of Rhodes in 1522, Mohacs of 1526, Vienna of 1529, Preveza, Gorjani, Castelnuovo, Buda, Eger, Malta, Szigetvar, Famagusta, Lepanto and much more!

Fun Fact: Johann (Hans) Schiltberger was a soldier fought under Sigismund's banner. In Nicopolis he was taken prisoner by Ottomans. Then served to Bayezid I. Battle of Ankara he taken prisoner by Timurids and went to capital Semerkand and fought for Georgia Campaings. After death of Timur, Timurids went through a civil war. In civil war he taken prisoner of war again. First Şahruh (Shah Rukh) then Miran Şah (Miran Shah) and lastly Ebu Bekir (Abu Bakr son of Miran Şah). In Ebu Bekir's army he met a Tatar Prince named Chekre (Çekre) and joined him as mercenary. They fought in lands of Kipchaks like city of Kazan. After some time Tatar Prince went bankrupt. And Schiltberger left him. He traveled Siberia. Years later he went to Constantinople and returned his home in Bavaria. He wrote his travels, adventures and his life named famous book "Reisebuch". In his last years he served under Duch Albert (III). Well, life is full of suprises. Regulation: Ladies and gentlemen, thanks for your attention and like. @@givenhoaeb4368 its because real life is much more dynamic in games. In real life someone can siege a city for years, and then take 8 of them in a few weeks right after that. There are far too many factors for a game to simulate, so its impossible to make a good video game that allows you to do what many historical figures did.

There is a mistake in the video: Smyrna had not been part of the Aydin Beylik since 1344, and since 1374 it was owned by the Knights of Rhodes until 1402 when Timur took it.

Bayezid came very close to the Anatolian Turkish political union that emerged later, but the twist of classical Turkish history brought the two great Turkish minds face to face, many documents and information were shared about the Ankara war, the most interesting part was the day before the start of the war, on 19 or 27 July. Bayezid, despite all his intelligence network, caught Timur unprepared in front of the Ankara castle, when he was caught between the castle and Bayezid's army, he rejected the idea of an attack by his sons and staff, and gave Timur the opportunity to escape to the stick plain. the divrism system was more used during sultan murad reign becouse before his reign it was only used as body guards or royal/imperial/principal etc guards and timar system was first used during the reign of osman but it changed during the reign of murad and bayazid

It is a fact that Ottomans had help from their European allies, later vassals. How do you think they came to rule in the first place? Roman/Rum, Bulgarian, Serbian, Albanian and Wallachian nobility sided with the Ottoman dynasty. They even ended up becoming Muslim and getting privileges. Those nobles who refused to cooperate were put to the sword.

@@AthrihosPithekos This is how things worked out. 90% of the local ttoman landowners & pasha´s in the balkans have actually been of slavic or albanian origin. The ottomans had a strong assimilation and integration policy and they knew how to do it right.

The Battle of Catalaunian Plains was a victory for the Roman Empire and its allies, even if the Huns were Turks. The Battle of Mansurah (both in 1221 and 1250) was fought against the Ayyubids, a Kurdish dynasty. Russia was pretty much on its own against the Ottomans and Crimean Tatars in 1571. The Long Turkish War was basically a long slugfest that was indecisive on both sides. Iceland was not occupied in 1627 by the Ottoman Empire, it was raided by Barbary pirates, and as part of Denmark-Norway, was on its own. Everything else in this list (which is still a lot) is still correct.

Tsardom of Russia had different nationalities in their army & was expanding and still their capital was raided by Turks. Those barbary pirates invaded under Ottoman banner & their leader was chosen by a ottoman admiral. At battle of Mansurah the main leader was from Bahri turkic dynasty

@@rumipraetorian9716 The Ottomans were "Turks" only in terms of language. Within the borders, only some allied nomadic populations like the Tatars of Crimea were truly Turkic. Other than that the vast majority was non Turkic like Rums (from Pontus,Cyprus, mainland Greece, Aegean islands-needless to say that only big islands had Muslims, mostly converts, since no settler from Anatolia or elsewhere would accept moving on infertile rocks), Georgians, Arabs, Kurds, Armenians (including Hemsin), Zaza Iranians, Abkhazians, Albanians, Balkan Slavs (Serbs, Bosnians, Bulgarians), Wallachians/Vlachs. All the above served the empire in various ways. The Barbary pirates of northern Africa too. Even part of the Egyptian Mamluks cooperated. One could the add French, British and Italians were put to service in the navy. And a great numbers of Rums(later Greeks). None would put clueless nomads on ships.

Could you make maybe a Video about the First battle in Parkany 1683 were the Turks crushed Jan Sobieski and His winged Husars? Sobieski almost were killed by the Turks because his soldiers got in panic and Run away and left him Alone in the Battlefield. The Polish lost 2000 men in Just a few hours on the Battlefield. The second Battle in Parkany was won because the Austrians and Germans arrived and outnumbered the Turks three Times and attacked them on a Bridge.
