It's funny that every perpetual motion machine is designed to hide its engine in some way
@dinglebop5700
@dinglebop5700 Год назад
Why is that funny? It's obvious
@augavini
@augavini Год назад
@@dinglebop5700 Yeah, It's obvious that perpetual motion isn't a thing, but the fact that the engineers always have to find a way to hide an engine to make the machine look "credible" just points out that ain't no perpetual motion after all 🤓
@dannythorpe1425
@dannythorpe1425 Год назад
It's not the engine that's hidden, it's the power supply. The idea of perpetual motion is that it can sustain or produce more than the initial energy input, so hiding the engine is never a concern, its hiding the constant energy input, batteries.

Bruh, imagine having to make that work with cgi. The reflections of the metal would be a damn pain.
@Zelmel

Yep. People saying it's CG are trying too hard. This kind of thing is basically never CG and Chris (no offence to him and his team) is not exactly a CGI artist.
@tjenadonn6158
@tjenadonn6158 Год назад
Especially with a handheld camera shot. If it was CGI it would likely use either nonreflective balls and a static camera angle just to make it easier to model and render.
@ZackRToler
@ZackRToler Год назад
@@Zelmel I'd say people claiming it's CG aren't trying at all. It's such an easy thing to throw given how much easier it's become to fake stuff with computers these days.
@SilverEye91
@SilverEye91 Год назад
@@tjenadonn6158 Nah, it's relatively easy to do with a handheld camera and reflective balls. You can just use a cube map for reflections. That's not the limitation, the limitations are that he interacts with it and the amount of time it would take to make those effects look good.
@SilverEye91
@SilverEye91 Год назад
@@ZackRToler But an effect like this is SIGNIFICANTLY easier to fake as a practical effect and make it look good.

@melanierose4140
@melanierose4140 Год назад
@@SilverEye91 I doubt that. That's not really how people use the word scam. I think you mean that it's obviously not a perpetual motion device, so there is a trick to making it look like that, and you don't like that everyone doesn't show how it works. If you're irritated by that, then just say that. People know that perpetual motion devices don't exist. People are just showing a cool device, not scamming people into buying... other people's products? You should probably take a breath. At most you could say that someone is falsely advertising, if they are ACTUALLY ADVERTISING, if they claim perpetual motion devices are actually real and you are buying one with no proper discription before you bought it. If someone is selling an item for a magic trick in an advertisement and doesn't explain how that magic trick works, are they falsely advertising? No, especially not if that isn't an item that they are selling or getting a cut in selling, but you'd have a better argument for that than a scam. Even if you don't understand these things, you'll probably get a description of the product no matter where you go to buy one. The device is working, that's what they are supposed to do. You can look at it and see that there is probably something underneath to help the ball.
@SilverEye91
@SilverEye91 Год назад
@@melanierose4140 No, people don't all believe that perpetual motion devices exist. Just look at the comments. And when these devices are sold many do not say that it's false. Furthermore the patent offices get tons of these designs that claim to be real, to the point where they now just throw anything out that claims to be that without even looking at it. What a weird thing to dude Melanie, why are you defending people that make these BS products just to fool the uneducated?
