Hey coach, remember that analysis of Sally’s cassiopeia from around 2 years ago? I am cass otp and that video made me change my playstyle from teamfight oriented adc style liandry cassiopeia to sidelane skill check duelist roa cassiopeia. I love what you showed there, the cheesy picking in bushes, 3v1 outplays drawing so much pressure it wins games, etc. I focused on developing this playstyle and finally got to diamond 3 weeks later after being stuck in plat for half a year. Thanks boss. 🎉

Playin since s2. Hit plat s5 wit top Garen and Singed. Hard stuck plat since this season I finally hit mid diamond wit high diamond/master mmr. I learned a lot of macro and wave management at top lane but mid lane panth was my main since s9. What basically helped me a lot was: poking with hitting the wave, never ever trading no matter what until I see where every enemy is on the map...jgler first. Have good vision. Knowing when to reset and never miss waves cuz that really adds up. I recently learned that. If my laner is too safe i push wave and look for roam/roam with jungler, but make sure it's crashed no matter what with a cannon wave so I don't lose exp on the way back. Rift over Dragon all day.... it helps open the map. Mid game keep cs pretty high that's where a lot of plat people and low diamond lose. As Panth always ping my ult and ult in counter instead of imitating. Obj first. Keep low deaths to stay on map for exp and resources. Enemy will make a mistake no matter what. End game (if there is one) if i'm fed which I'm usually am...be confident in yourself and fuck their whole team up. If not then peel for your carry. it sounds easy but it was tough to not have that as a habit during my plat years and just play recklessly. So I had to clean it up. And only play 1 champ. I can play a second champ too if I have too. but that's it. Hope this wasn't too long. It feels weird even typin this honestly I never usually comment but I finally hit diamond after 11 years... Oh yea, I don't do no dam VOD reviews or all that lol... I can notice mistakes usually when I see it after I do it... that's a waste of a time imo. Never done it. But hey who knows...if I did then maybe i would be challenger? I don't chat, I don't mute anyone. If people are toxic I ignore it and jus focus on myself cuz hopefully they can figure it out on their own. I don't tilt. Each game is a new game so whatever happens last game is whatever. Just play your best every game and try to be better each game.

there is no way someone drops from masters to platinum, the gameplay gap is huuuuge. Unless you got elo jobed to masters, the most you can possibly drop would be like d3, d4 maximum
@HanyuuHOLO
@HanyuuHOLO Год назад
My biggest drop was in Season 9 from Grandmaster 100~200lp to D4 (I believe D5 was still a thing back then tho). Quickly got back to D1~masters after a win streak. I was a full coinflip 1v9 mindset player, mechanics max every game, permanently in limit-testing mode playing as many games as I could on a session, I had bad sleep, bad eating habits and minimum to no exercise. This kind of mindset results in huge win streaks and huge loss streaks, because the only thing that ends up affecting your results when you are THAT coinflip is how confident you are that you'll destroy everyone in that single game, and that's affected by how many dopamine hits (wins) you got on this ONE session, zero big picture thinking. Edit: I forgot to add that the reason why you usually quickly get back to your rank is because you start facing opponents much lower than your actual skill level, you stomp them and get the confidence boost. Then the cycle starts again.
@MONTUSKER
@MONTUSKER Год назад
Usually thats just them not even actually being masters in the first place. They just peaked there. Especially this season with 1000’s of master 1lp people. Then the tilt happens. The champ/role swapping. The refusing to take a break. Must end on a win shit takes over and they drop.

I feel that I'm at the elo that a lot of these smurfs start out their climbs and it feels awful to just get stomped by way better players when I'm supposed to be matched against those of my skill level. It's really ruining my drive to ever touch ranked since a lot of these players take their lead and dictate the entire game with it, how do I deal with this?

Aite lads I need guidance. How do I stay motivated when I have +18/-26 despite maintaining a 63% wr for about 100 games, and am just sitting High Plat Low Dia. Or should I just quit and play a better game with good matchmaking, thoughts?
@orbitronsorbitrons
@orbitronsorbitrons Год назад
In my experience MMR kinda just solves itself after a while. Ive had periods with +20/-30 but they usually pass by after enough games. As for quitting the game, thats really a whole different question of if youre enjoying the game or not. If not, then fuck it play something else. Just know that the grass is rarely greener on the other side, most games have fallible matchmaking, thats just how it be.
@crimson7854
@crimson7854 Год назад
I was once in your shoes 2 or 3 months ago: I demoted from d4 and as a result, I had a +13/-30 (it became a meme in my discord). At that point, I ignore everything that's related to gaining LP, and just pick champs that's super fun to play, even if it's offmeta. You will be surprised on how fast your mmr is fixed. Though if you wanna quit, everyone will say "go for it because league is an addiction"
@xazarl3381
@xazarl3381 Год назад
ur lp gains arnt mmr so what are you playing against if your mmr is going up thats all that matters. If you 63% winrate to master mmr your rank will eventually catch up so its just an excuse.
@KryptekMajestic
@KryptekMajestic Год назад
as an aside rant I fucking despise that Riot stopped letting you see your teammates instead of fixing mm. Now I load into game and see I have 3 1000 game 50% wr autofilled andys and the enemy team has on role human players. Like am I crazy for thinking this shouldn't be acceptable? Genuinely the losers q and winners q is so gross just matchmake real games, instead of either side having a free win with half the team filled. Obviously none of this shit matters if ur just trying to improve youself, but like how am I supposed to sit here and unironically tell myself miserably grinding through this is fun. The game doesn't feel challenging it just feels like oh you go through the motions play a couple hundred games and then just get handed the results for free like everyone else.
@Obzerver
@Obzerver Год назад
Question: "How do I stay motivated" Answer: You don't. Either you actually enjoy the task and motivation becomes dedication, Or you don't and you quit. If you want to care but don't then talk to a therapist. The smallest bit of practical advice I've heard for this comes from the Andrew Huberman podcast where he said something like "it's very hard to change the mind with the mind. If you want to change the mind then look to the body." That is to say, make playing part of your daily routine and work to remove motivation from the equation of whether or not you queue up. As an analogy, if you want to make yourself go for a walk every day then the best thing you can do is get a golden retriever. Its no longer a question of motivation, its just something you have to do. Of course, if you don't actually want to care then it's easy: just quit.

I dont know what is with this game. i was hardstuck in gold and plat for the first 5 years. then i randomly after my biggest loss streak that brought me to my lowest at g4. i just did a 180 and went from g4 to d4. then i was hardstuck in diamond for 3 years. then i did the same. i did a d4 to masters in fucking 4 days with not to many games. i dont know why things click. my thought is i had the skills. but ONE bad habit can literally hold you back. i learned that its okay to be a puss and not perma push and threaten dives every single time. that got me to diamond. then i learned to simply look at the lanes im in and just think the 3 first waves. that got me to consistenly do first bloods in 5-6/10 games and that snowbally playstyle got me leads that i could use more. and because i learned to back off. that helped me to literally take more backs and not be there to GIVE FREE DUMMY GOLD. like fellas. just get a little pickier about your habits.

lol at this guy's best tip being "just use stims after you get home from work and are tired in the evening, bro" i mean yeah, this is unironically great advice if you can handle caffeine late in the day without it wrecking your sleep. but i actually gave up ranked LoL because this isn't an option for me, and because it is indeed just way too hard to focus in the evenings after you exert yourself all day long it's just not a rewarding and satisfying experience to waste ~1.5 hours of your life (2 games plus 2 champ selects; the loss + the win you need to make up for the loss) because your brain momentarily lost absolute focus and you missed that your ward expired 10 seconds ago and you get ganked by a point and click vi ult and die and lose 3 waves a big reason why league and other mobas are slowly dying in terms of popularity is because the genre is just too demanding and punishing. gamers want a competitive experience, but they don't want an experience where one small mistake costs you an hour or two of your life and free time to enjoy your hobbies. this is just silly and not cool or fun. the moba genre had its time and i don't think it's ever coming back. riot's 2v2v2v2 arena mode is a good attempt to pivot in a direction with a future
@drb4074
@drb4074 Год назад
Battle Royales exist for players that can't handle the intensity of a true PvP experience like MOBAs. MOBAs can be a lot like chess, which is very fatiguing. The reason BRs exploded is because you don't have to be any good to still see "wins" or get stuff. Hide in a bush. Let better players slug it out while you rely on luck. You can "win" by sheer dumb happenstance. Whereas in a MOBA, if you aren't on point playing well you are going to lose, lose, lose, and lose some more. While it can hurt admitting in a MOBA that the reason you are losing so much is because YOU are the problem, it's also what gives the insanely addictive high when you finally start putting it together and make wins out of what were previously losses. Because it was YOU that made it happen.
@xNOTMYREALNAMEx
@xNOTMYREALNAMEx Год назад
@@drb4074 i'm not sure why you bring up battle royales. i did not refer to any battle royale games i'm actually a lifelong chessplayer myself. classical chess (long time controls) is dying for the same reason that mobas are dying: they're too punishing for the amount of time that is required to be invested. it's silly to devote hours of time to one (!) chess game that can be decided by a single mistake when you could instead play 25 blitz games in that same amount of time and have fun and feel positive about the time you spent on your hobby no matter what. just like it's silly to invest 45+ minutes on a moba game that can be decided from one mistake by you or an ally, or even decided by one of your allies who is awful or griefing the genre is just outdated, like classical chess. maybe someone very clever will come up with an innovation to save it, but i don't see how that would work

Both you and the other player have spoken about "reference points". I'm confused as to what those are and how to identify them. Did I miss a video explaining this?
@drb4074
@drb4074 Год назад
It's a point to compare to. A standard you look at and use as a reference for comparison to what you are doing. A simple one might be "10 CS per minute". You can compare yourself to that, and see how you are doing. When it comes to champions, it might be "getting to X item by Y minute" or "getting X level ASAP" "etc. A lane matchup might be "shove, shove shove" or "play slow and don't trade" or "control wave and zone off opponent", etc. A mid-late game teamfight reference might be "engage on X enemy" or "disable X enemy" or "wait for X teammate to use Y ability etc. Points that let me know I should then do THIS or THAT, or WHEN. Sort of markers to judge your play by, and see if you are accomplishing what is needed to do well on that champion or in your role. Basically, a "what does this champ need to be doing" description, and so you can judge if you are doing it. They talked about a situation where this player wanted to keep his Jinx teammate in a good position so that she is relevant late game for fights, so that those fights will have easier reference points. Meaning it's easy to see, clearly defined points in late game team fight where he'll know what he should do. Whereas if the Jinx isn't relevant because of bad laning, then the later teamfights will be harder to figure out when to do what because you don't have an easy carry setting the framework of the fight. Curtis touches on the concept when discussing how some champs have simple reference points, while others might have more complex ones. Which is why certain champs can be easier to play and understand, while others are more difficult.
@CoachCurtis
@CoachCurtis Год назад
Reference points are essentially 'things that are important for that champ'. E.g. Ahri Lost chaper, Ahri lvl 7 with DMats Ahri lvl 9 Ahri everforst+ionions. These help direct your focus onto things IN game to give direction. They are usually tied to your champs identity
