Solomon Troup Architects addresses the global construction waste issue by preserving the existing building fabric for this Point Lonsdale House. Much of the house was retained, with the central living zone being reworked to include a new open-plan living room, kitchen and dining room, a new entry, mudroom, powder room, and butler's pantry. A small addition provided a new main bedroom wing with a view over the garden, showing that even small changes can have a big impact on the livability of a home.

I like the house very much, especially the way the garden interplays with the constructed environment; being an Aussie I am fond of the serenity provided by some native birdsongs and rustling gumtrees.

Beautiful home, I really liked the use of the darker colour scheme 😍. Fantastic effort on trying to keep as much of the original house as possible in order to minimise the costs and the environmental impact of the renovation. It's not an easy task I'm sure 👏👏👏👏👏👏

"The new addition, which measures only 40m2 in area..." That's bigger than my entire home 😂 Loved the video, it's now a beautiful and functional property.

Beautiful project & palette! The before and after images really show the impact the addition had. I loved hearing how the existing window condition allowed a connection to the addition without creating much waste! Well done, yall! 👏

Beautiful home, love calm and contrast in interiors. But no rain drainage from extensions' roof? How will wooden fasade look like after 10 years?
