Singing isn’t always about singing so high or so low.It’s about connecting and feeling the song! Luchie just makes u feel he was part of that moment and he is feeling the song.That’s what makes a good singer!

Yes, what you are describing is called emoting. It still amazes me that even the most gifted singers and even technical percision singers who belt out the most amazing set can still be beaten everytime by a singer who is emoting and tellling a story from the heart.

I was won over by his audition alone but now that I've watched every performance I'm in awe. He is brilliant. He set himself up well by singing a song that was actually a story for his audition and every audition after that was another beautiful story. His heart goes into every song and for anyone whose making negative comments where you say he's awkward or mechanical you don't know what you're talking about. He sings like he is telling a story and even his mouth moves accordingly with his emotions. And to top it off he has a beautiful voice that takes my breath away..i hope he reads this, he made this 55 year old aging way too quickly woman's day.

Lachie connects to emotion so seamlessly. Projecting emotions is extremely difficult because often artists have never felt that particular emotion in that particular way before. He beat powerful, talented vocalists because he stay connected so effortlessly. Humans are emotional creatures and we appreciate music that connects us to our emotions the most. I hope he has a great career.

One of my favorites out of all the seasons. Plenty of people can be powerhouse singers but it's much harder to sing softly and not have the range and still touch people and he's done that time and time again. His voice is magic. It gives me goosebumps all down my cancer ridden spine and I'm happy I got to hear his man's voice because it's perfectly unique. Faith is lovely and she can sing her butt off and I wish we could have had two winners. I do hope Faith makes it because she's wonderful and I wish her nothing but the best as well.

I love your comment, I do however think it's just a hard thing to touch people in general, I don't think it's the type of voice that matters, it's something else, and him and Faith definitely had it, I have yet to hear the others.

His ending on Time After Time proves this. It was expected that he was building for a final belt, but instead dropped volume and went high. It gave such a stronger emotional delivery in the absence of the intensity.

I loved all his renditions of every song! I didn't!@ even like Deja Vu until I heard Lachie's version. Then when he sang Time After Time, I believed him! He made me cry with his performance. You could see his heart and soul were in every word, every note. So happy he won.

For me there is the utmost positivity for this amazing artist. A voice with unique, wild, power house, gritty pitch. I was mesmerized by the connection with every word of each song. So believable. An absolute audible luxury. On completion I absolutely missed the sound of Lachy's special voice. You killed it. Congratulations.

That emotion in the voice, that husky voice, it's so great, it's so amazing, although he's not a belter, he still got some high notes then mixed with the technique of his singing, also his falsetto is so smooth. His voice or technique is unique because doing those is like it'll scratch your throat, like damaging your throat. That's why it's so great

I love that cry he has in all of his performances. It almost is like he is nervous and not completely in control of his voice but it makes him so believable. He has such a unique gift, the natural grit with that cry, that’s his money maker..

I teach it and call it cry voice. You hold your face as if you're going to cry and sing using the scrunch you make when you cry. Seth Riggs taught it to Michael Bolton and that's what made him a star and made his career.

I had to see this guy because I saw Faith and just thought: "there just can't be someone better" I LOVE LACHIE'S VOICE!! THE GIRL'S ARE POWER-HOUSE, INDEED. BUT ITS NOT JUST ABOUT BEING LOUD. Faith sang songs of five or six power-hose ladies. But I only have CDs of two of them, cause I can hear loud, but not in almost the whole CD. You know? So, I'm not "mad" that he won. His raspy mix in his voice is VERY sexy and you understand EVERY WORD. And I like that. CONGRATS 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 P.S. I will save this video 😉

i love the voice australia because i feel like the judges are actual teachers. the way that rita put her faith in lachie, from the blinds (when she blocked for him) to the sessions where she ensured he remained loyal to his charisma, it just felt meant to be. so good to see a genuine storyteller with an amazing vocal win the voice, rather than your typical powerhouse singer.
