I tried 2 gels( the Curlsmith Frizz Rescue Curl Retainer and In-Shower Style Fixer. I brush styled with a Denman brush, micro-plopped with a smooth cotton hair towel then diffused. WOW! My curls have NEVER looked this great! I sleep in a silk cap and my curls still looked good on day 3! I wash my hair every 3-4 days and use only Curlsmith products. I have very thick, heavy, low-porosity curls that don't do well with air drying. For the first time in 64 years, I love my curls!
I haven't tried Curlsmith products yet, but Gena Marie's tips have completely transformed my hair. Thank you so much!!! I have done a few videos on shedding and talking about my loss of density, but since I'm not a dermatologist or doctor I worry about speaking on alopecia 😕

Hi, Gena ~ perfect timing! My goodness, I've got see-through curls today and voila ~ you're going to reveal the steps to avoid/ prevent this (thank you!). [I had tried the brush technique; back to finger combing. I've .only. watched once, so I'm going back for a replay or 2 or 3, and take notes. Your hair looks great, I like the volume you got. I'm going to try your sectioning and defusing techniques, I've been sectioning a little differently than you do and I think your way might be better for me. I do struggle with product instructions that say to apply to "midlengths" and toward the ends as my hair is short and I'm not really sure what a midlength is for short hair, so I end up applying products upside down to get to the midlengths and ends first.
My curly hair is getting longer...just a bit past my shoulders. It seems that the longer it gets, the more most of the curls stretch out and they begin to look wavy! I'm trying different combos of products to see how I can get my hair to look its best. Day 2 always seems to look the best no matter what I use. Sometimes I use a silk bonnet at night, but if I had my choice I wouldn't use one. I just like my head "being free". When I don't use a bonnet, I flip my hair up and just sleep on it. I wish I could get your look but, I know everyone's curls are different and react different.
Looks gorgeous Gena💯❤️!! I struggle with volume and sometimes definition. I tried using two gel which gave me great definition however no volume. Any recommendations would be most helpful!! Thanks for the great videos!
I really liked their frizz line, but the fragrance was so strong that I couldn’t keep using it 😢. I wish they had fragrance-free versions of all their lines or at least lighter scents. They have such good products!
I do use that line, but I struggle with their strong hold gel in that line. It always leaves my hair product-y, but it does give great results… I like the jelly, but it’s not enough hold. Basically, I’m Goldilocks ;).
