The lock button is there to prevent the system from disengaging due to rough conditions. NOT for activation or deactivation of the AWD because it is continuously running until 80 Km or so then disengages automatically.
When you select AWD Lock mode by pressing the AWD LOCK button. - The AWD LOCK mode is to increase the drive power when driving on wet pavement, snow covered roads and/or off-road. CAUTION - AWD Lock Mode Do not use AWD LOCK mode on dry paved roads or highway, it can cause noise, vibration or damage of AWD related parts That's what my Manuel says
For the LOVE OF GOD DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS MAN. This will totally destroy the all wheel drive and transmission of vehicle. AWD is always on that button is to lock all axles for really rough terrain. Leaving them on for extended use will destroy vehicle. I own same year vehicle.
@1BettyBill 10 years Automotive mechanic and 25 years off road experience. Plus, I own the same vehicle as you. I can also understand what I read. The All Wheel Drive is on at all times the lockers prevent unwanted slippage during certain scenarios.
That’s wrong!! That is only use if you ever get stuck and you want the power distributed evenly on all the wheels for you to get unstuck.. don’t ever turn this feature on unless is an emergency
100% incorrect my friend, that’s the Diff Lock on/off switch, it’s full time AWD and you cannot disable it via that switch… the manual also states very clearly to NOT drive with the on for extended time or over 30min… you’ll destroy your gearbox and now way getting warranty of any kind
