For the Hecate polymorph, you can actually try to drag it into her and it'll end early; or if you have Frinos with you he can eat it and it'll end.

May be a little off topic but I’m so excited for the future of this game man. The possibility of possibly freeing the old cast and interacting with them in the full game is insane if they decide to go that route. Great content!

Sorry for my second comment but heres a fun fact, you know how chaos trials give you absolutely broken heroic tier boons right? If you go to echo and get the "get a boon from previous night" thing it actually counts chaos trials as the previous night so you can actually gain those boons in your legit runs!

Similarly, Poseidon special is BUSTED on Aspect of Momos. Get that, the double moonshot hammer and it’s basically game over. For extra ease, get aphro glamour gain to apply weak on bosses with slip for p status, plus zeus cast to make it spawn on the boss. Actually melts, far better than anything else I’ve used and very safe

doing the math, hera's magick regen boon can get your total magick in the thousands, which is pretty freaking insane lol. i wouldn't be surprised if the devs quickly nerf this boon.

Sometimes regular specials are worth it simply because they stay in place. Also, Hitch is hard to apply from dash because it's not from dash, it's from sprint. You need to hold it for a few more frames. And finally, Chronos is resistant to slows (including Hex bullet time, omega bullet time arcana, freeze etc.), so that's why you see what you see in the last fight.

I know you've said you don't like the Lunar Ray, but with the Path of Stars upgrades, it was able to carry me through my first Chronos win. It has a rare upgrade (Prominence) that automates itself like Demeter's beam from Hades 1 and multiple -10 cost upgrades (Readiness) that allow it to be SPAMMED in long fights when you have any amount of magic regen. I agree though that the Ray is VERY risky until you get Prominence which should be possible if it's offered with the Full Moon buff.

Don't think I've seen all your Hades 2 vids, but this build is definitely the most powerful I've seen yet.

Still not a fan of torches, but I'm beginning to notice a recurring theme when picking Poseidon boons lmao

Would love to see a build where you Prime all your magic and then just destroy shit with normal attacks

Build: Aphro attack, Zeus special, Poseidon sprint, Zeus-Aphro duo, Ignium "I ram my face into you and strike you with lightning"

32:07 One of the reasons you maybe have trouble getting boons like Crashing wave is you still have empty primary slots like your attack so you get offers of attack boons often. So even if you don't plan to use attack if there is nothing too great to take otherwise it's worth not clogging your 3 choices with attack boons so often.

If you quit when the npc buys something you want. It will reset the room and you can try to get it before the again

Bit of a nitpick but I feel like your bond with Cerberus should increase everytime you free him from the fields

With torches my favorite build is hephaestus sprint with hephaestus-apollo duo and demeter-hephaestus duo with demeter special,this combo is op you basically get infinite freeze with massive area dmg.

Moros aspect with aphro special and zeus attack and romantic spark,you wanna open with the omega special (u can do it twice or more if you want) then spam the attack to creat blasts. Honestly some of the highest dps i've seen in this game so far

i think torches have high speedrun potential if you get good rng. there are some unreal synergies with every aspect

Hera's MP restoration boon is better than I initially expected it to be, as long as you take a few Max MP rewards along the way, as your total effective MP scales exponentially with max MP. I worked out the formula for your effective MP for any particular encounter, where M is your max MP and p is the amount primed each time you restore it, is: (M^2 + Mp) / 2p. So going into the fight with Chronos, starting with 144 max MP and priming 8 each time you refill your mana, gives you an ideal effective total MP of 1368. (It's not actually 1368 because you aren't likely to completely empty your mp before refilling, causing you to waste the leftover MP.) If you had picked up one more +30 max MP reward, your ideal effective total MP would've been 1979 instead!

Given that the white damage was so high, maybe Zeus blitz on the special would be better. It would also provide a curse for p status (except on the blitz strike, but probably still worth it). Also, the increase to p status damage from upgraded arcana is wild

For anyone wanting to abuse this, when nemesis steals a path or item from you, a lot of the time you can quit and come back, and just be faster than her. You can still take the item most of the time you just have to be fast enough

The Heavy Metal boon needs to better explain that it prevents the suck attacks from working as well

Aspect of Moros is really good on the torches. It's probably the easiest way to make them work. Use the omega special and start spamming attacks.

not great for speedrunning but the axe with hell splitter and executionor's chop hits with the 300 base damage twice while only costing 20 magick and with apollon's attack you deal 1200 damage per hit while at a safe range (aphro works too if you can dodge enough)

Literally just got my last weapon clear with Podeidon special Torches and this pops up, weird coincidence.

Most sure fire way I’ve been able to figure out the right Hecate when she splits into 3… Aphrodite boon where 1 enemy is always weak (to recover your magic). The real one will be the only one afflicted

I wonder if Aphro worked badly due to not being close enough to trigger the damage bonus. You have to be pretty close to the enemy if her mana gain boon is any indication of what the game deems "close". I'm thinking if you want a %dmg boost something like hestia or demeter would probably be good. Maybe even apollo. I'm guessing the crit chance from the arcana card is pulling a lot of weight here which is why the base special damage is so much higher than the posidon damage. That said, I tried this build and you are right, you need to be tanky as hell lol. I didn't get very far with it and got pretty bad hammer RNG. After 40 or so hours so far, my favorite has been Pan aka Chiron At Home. I want to try out Artemis soon though, after your comment about it lol.

Idk why moon water is considered the best hex (maybe I'll see the need once i cross that 8 testament threshold?) but the path of stars for almost all hexes are really good even lunar ray kinda turns into a really strong crystal beam fairy quickly into the upgrades, and the totally eclipse hitting twice, or dark form buffs, are all really strong. Imo if you spend a decent bit of magic courtesy of either hestia or hera magic regen boons the hexes are always really fun and usually end up being my #2 or #3 source of damage. Since most hexes allow you to become invulnerable in some capacity anyways its either "heal for health, or kill enemies quicker so you don't take damage" for me

Special does not stagger so its still rough and feels frustrating

When a boon says "Attacks" it means both normal attack and Omega Attack. Same for if it says "Specials", unless clearly stated otherwise. Hammers are the ones that are very specific and if they don't say Omega, they just affect normal attack or special. If somethings says "Strikes" it counts for all your attacks, specials, casts, and omegas. IE, if you get Aphrodite's Attack boon, it affects both your normal attack and omega attack in close range to an enemy. If you get Hephaestus' Martial Art infusion, it affects both the normal and omega variants of Attack and Special, but not Casts. If you get Zeus' deal flat lightning damage with every strike but prime magick boon, then all attacks, specials, and casts apply it so long as they cause direct damage. (Hestia cast won't apply it, but Demeter will.)

Seeing you play the game makes me want the developer to some day add Zagreus as a playable character in Hades 2 to enjoy his voice and chatting again.😂😂. If possible, hope we can have Melinoe and Zagreus to play toghther just like it takes 2 so I can play it with mu loved ones😂😂

I was a torch doubter, given the generally trash attack on these things. The special and cast, on the other hand, are very busted indeed. Got my first underworld clear with these on my first serious attempt 😊.

I think my only complaint about the whole game currently is the HUGE chambers that you can get lost in around 30:00. It's really un-fun to run around because you have no clue where to go, and I don't really see how it's beneficial to the gameplay or experience.

I don't like this version of the pact of punishment, im trying to max one aspect of the axe and it ask me to kill cronos at 20 heat for the last upgrade ( i still will need 2 runs more) the fact that it goes from 1-2-4-8-16-20

why does he keep saying he can make something heroic? How does that work?

Can't tell if it's a me issue or a game issue but I'm really struggling with getting proper combos out of this game so far. I often finish the first stage with only one attack/special/cast boon and I find that with the addition of Omega moves my builds just use a very small section of the kit of each weapon. Generally I think the weapons in Hades were better designed to make use of the (fewer) abilities they had, and I think the boons in the origional game were much better to build around. Lots of useless/low impact/passive boons in this version at the moment. Hoping they really overhaul the boons in subsequent updates.

I have mixed feelings about the torches ... the concept and design of the weapon are awesome but the special is so annoying to use (long channel time + long recovery time between channels)
