Shayda, what’s the difference of putting an under layer of watercolor if none shows though? Is it ver subtle but showing for depth? Can’t always see the video as it looks on your table. Thank you. Love your teaching style

I think you would enjoy using Acryli-gouache. Eventually, too much layering with water based mediums, like gouache, will cause the layers under to lift and blend. This is especially so when the gouache is watered down.
Why is everyone starting to incorporate gouache into their watercolor now? I just want to see watercolor tutorials. I know Shayda does more than just watercolor but it's almost every channel that I watch for watercolor is starting to add gouache into their paintings too! Why?
Because gouache is very fun to paint with and is becoming more popular. It gives a certain style to a painting you can't get with just watercolor. I understand it can be frustrating when you are watching a video and think it will be using watercolor only though.
