Want a specific speed? Get a music tape (I ecommend originals to be sure) play the song on youtube or whatever digital version you have and try to match both songs,
Thanks man!!! At first I tried to put potentiometer between motor and board. Thanks to your video i'll be finally able to modify my player :D I even find a spot, which will let me speed up and slow down speed depending on resistance I put there, so I'll add there a potentiometer and on/off switch, so I'll be able to turn the mod on and off:)) Thanks man!
Start with a 10k (type B / linear), if it's not giving you a good wide range of speeds, try and bigger value, like 50k or 100k or 1M . . . . basically experiment, pots are cheap, buy a few.
as i use low grade insulation tape that goes off too quickly id just used heatshrink tubes in the pot soldering point and also would drill a hole for potentiometer mount considering that it would be a permanent mod
Just prodding around like that you are liable to just short circuit the supply to the motor when the pot is turned fully down. I don't think a short circuit or pulling the supply rail down is a sensible way to lower the speed. You need to tap into the motor electronic governor pot/resistor.
Mental note: don't turn the pot fully down. now being serious, I know nothing about electronics but that makes sense. Do you know about a better tutorial on how to do this/something like this?
