@@heavymetalATC it connected the dots between many of the isolated crumbs of knowledge I had and added a lot of context to processes I thought I knew. Been looking at all my analog gear with fresh excitement and that's really cool cause equipment is better being used and loved instead of gathering dust in shelf purgatory. Thanks for the effort!

Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to write a kind comment Tay. Yeah I try to keep that aesthetic on all my vids after a certain point. At first it was unintentional im just an old head its my style but I started to try to buy good cameras and start editing fancy and my viewers was like NAW boi.. dont do that. Keep the Vibe. SO I try to remember to not be too flashy n stuff and I use a 60s lense on my camera to keep it looking like that but hd. RU-vid a trip..

Loved this. Combine education with comedy . . .a winning combo. As a Brit I particularly enjoyed your comic renditions of Lennon, Gabriel and Collins English accents. You made my day . . .oh and I learnt quite a lot too. I was born in the fifties in case you're interested. 😉

Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment Arthur. Im glad you liked the impressions I had another guy from England say, Oh the impressions were terrible. LOL I guess if I had to say what I was doing wasnt actually a good impression of each person but mostly just a modified version of poking fun at my friend Craig from Essex. He sounds almost like Harry Potter Hahaha. After talking with me a lot. He has learned to do a Southern American accent Spot on. Like scary good, I would never know it wasn't authentic. Either way thanks again for the kind words and I am so happy that you enjoyed the video.

Also you can use a tape recorder as a lofi sampler by recording a single kick, snare, hi hat, synth note, guitar note or bass note into the tape player. Then you record that note back into your daw. You can use this effect to dirty up a keyboard sound that's too digital or give some gain to your drum kits.

Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave such a detailed and useful comment Desperadow. Great tip absolutely useful. I have also found that letting something play out into the room and rerecording it just like a simple cheezy reamp and then fading it in with the original will also help a lot on digital sounding synths. I heard that Depeche Mode used to play their synths through old tube guitar amps like fender twin reverb way across the room for this reason. Thanks again bro great tip.

sorry to break in. but the 4 track cassette recorder & the great sound that i get when i run my guiar thru the dedicated guitar only input jack. our host with the most & you both know why that happened. you referenced in above text & clem. said it. i was 12yrs old in 1980 when it seemed a lot of artist from most genre's were all on the same lyrical topic. not all the artist , though... one of my fav. bands was dealing with a band mate's death & was coming back to work in thier funeral clothes. and john anderson was clearly , but prolly not safe, was checking charlette's oil right there on the porch swing, and joan jett was composing love songs about her job.but these other guys were all into self pleasure. michael jackson was "beating it".. our not so Quiet riot rockers was banging thier heads. jagger & keith was shaking it up. john waite had to of been doing something he wrote his ex that he wasnt missing here. duran duran wrote, prolly later on, talking about edging. with the reflex. cindy lauper wasnt into headbanging.... so she just bop , bop , ohhhh, shebop. british bill idol, just listen to his record collection & dance with his self.. it was crazy. my mom had just moved us to the bottom half of our state closer to her sisters and mom. and i lived within range of a clear FM signal that was strong enough that it came in in stereo. our state bigges Rock station. but it was static'y and crackily like the south of the state needed to de-oxit thier pot.'s. i miss the rockers, tom petty, styx, floyd, kiss, uncle ted. the freaking eagles, paul rodgers and his company , i could still hear foreiner but they started playing love songs , and brian may was making great sounds every 5th song they released, areosmith had took a break or something, really. steve perry made a love song, who else, floyd had not put anything new, my young cousin was all into this one song that was great. but bocephus wasnt rocking then he was surving new york city & the mississippi river water level disappering. willie made millions & became ledgend with a song about his job & he loved it.. kida like joan did. i literally heard like from 50% of the songs from my home northward in 1979. were new release material. yeah i know we had the disco.. but naww. funkytown ??? the bee gees. that had groovey bass lines and the had the vocal harmony this down. then maurice is hitting the high "c" soprano notes. but .. naw. bob seger and his coors lite band great music. good for road trip until you take one down lower state and the year numbers on paper chart on wall & everyone took a break .. some made love song or two by themself. ohh. it was a shock. it changed quickly, malcolm and his small brother had another friend that could sing. and he could work with them , but be respectful. . and they came back and rock bands started showing up . british deaf predator cats brought on the heartache. the ratt's showed us how to lay it down & round and round. kevin bacon learned to dance as did the flashdancer . ole jackson boy got some more scarier songs and knocked a girl up or she just claimed he did but it still unknown. the eagles made it back from thier long run but they didnt hang out. so it was a good thing that they were a supergroup & smuggled some dirty laundry the rocky mountian way. and hey. we had the cars ! we had a group that i never heard in my life an dont care if i ever again do. thier singer really tries . just watch his neck tendons and he really tries... but all i can see in my mind is a boomstand for him trying to help an extra large loaf that had became un malleable. help it with vocal vibrations & i think it musta worked. his large colon would contract on time to emphasize key words .... i was (cramp) BOOOOORRRRNN . in the yus ahh. . yeah. this took way to long to tel why im a 80's fan motley, poison, jovi, twisted snider, tom kiefer, tesla, and on and on. zackwylde. helped oz into the new .aerosmith resurfaced. tom petty . scorpions, disco duck died, paul simon helped do much he had the world focus on a video game. and we all was glad to be lied to by madonna . 1st time my ass. lol hey im out gotta go. latter. 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

@@MrMetalclay Thanks I apologize that it didnt contain the building of a physical tape delay machine but you can use the info to take 2 tape recorders gut them and use 1 for recording and one for play back in the same machine and make a delay with either a tape loop cassette or making reels and putting a tape loop or reel of tape on it like the reel to reel in the video or an old echoplex... I am going to put this in my notes as I have been planning to build one for a while and if/when I do the video of the build and demo I will give you a shout-out.

A long time since the last comment, but still, great fun video. I've been messing with making a cassette deck into a tape echo, but kind of failed. Now watching this, and armed with a nice cassette deck from 1973, it looks like with a bit of effort I can make it happen without moving tape heads around and all the mixing and splitting of signals and so on. Plus, learning I can ADT, phase and flange too is just fantastic! + Another Brit who finds your accents funny, if slightly inaccurate as you say! Peace!
