@@charleeeugene Yup Yup Same, I got a pretty good one all things considered.7060 MFF 1TB nvme 32GB DDR4 i7 8700T 6 core Wifi & Bluetooth. I repasted it & re-enabled the Bluetooth since it was likely disabled by the Office I.T. when it was in service. Easy fix to save a USB port from a Bluetooth dongle. I still need to order the bracket so I can add my 1TB 870 EVO. My main mod is gonna be that USB C port in place of the VGA port it came with. From what I can tell the USB C Daughterboard you linked can do Video & Data & Charge since it has both the USB C and the VIDEO cables that plug into the Mobo. The VGA port on mine is using only the VIDEO plug on the Mobo & the USB C plug on the Mobo in unused. Also shout out team MX Keys Mini freaking love this keyboard.

Just bought one today on ebay.... I might add USB C or HDMI not sure yet will see soon once I receive my system.... I checked and the system I bought already has the USB-C installed I'll probably go with HDMI so I don't have to get an adapter cable to run HDMI.... I looked on dell for that part can't seem to find it

what about plugging in a 10Gb Nic module? what are the options?

Somebody said they have a better nic module than the one it comes with not sure if it’s 10gb though. I will look into it.

The only m.2 10Gbps modules I've seen were way to big to fit but getting m.2 a+e 2.5 Gbps that works in the wifi card expansion is cheap and easy to get. I have two of these devices in a proxmox cluster and they work really well with the added Realtek NIC that I've bought.

Too bad there's no Ethernet module! I have a 7050, and it would make a nice Internet gateway firewall. I have a USB Ethernet dongle, but it would be so much more secure using that port.

@@charleeeugene mine's a 7050, with the i5-6500T CPU & 16 GiB of RAM. And I just got a 7th gen i7 for it. Mine was sold as "no HDD, no OS" but when I installed Windows 10 to update the BIOS, it registered, so I've been using it as a Windows machine to do various things.

So on the Dell optiplex 7050 mff’s can also have these same parts used ? ( USB C / VGA / HDMI ) for the spare slot on the I/O ? I already have HDMI and VGA on my mff ( i7-7700t / 32 gb ddr4 / 500gb Seagate baracuda pcie 3rd gen / Secondary sata ssd 2tb / windows 11 pro ) Debating if I should do a usb-C port so that way I have one in the rear and also the one in the front facing or vga because I have a lot of monitors and also do a lot of Sega Dreamcast captures as well . Thank you

VGA is still used a lot in business. There are still plenty of older projectors etc that are VGA. There are still options to get serial ports on modern, new computers.

@@charleeeugene I much prefer DIsplayport. VGA is just a fact of life, until the machines using it finally die. There are often stories of companies scouring Ebay etc for ancient parts to keep multi million machines going. Parts for late 90s, 2000s PC that will only run the controller software on X hardware and OS version. Even a VM does not cut it at times. Due to how rubbish some of the controller software is.

@@Yandarval your absolutely correct a lot of legacy equipment still in use rely on VGA . I like display port as well I run thru HDMI cables like crazy. I guess I like the fact that audio and video work on HDMI/Display cables.
