How to add an extended tank drain to Dewalt DXCM601 compressor.
I finally made time to upload a video of the extended tank drain I did for my Dewalt compressor. The tank drain helps make the drain valve more accessible and easy to reach. I have used the Dewalt extended tank drain for about 3 months already with no issues. The Dewalt DXCM072-0023 worked great on this 60 gallon Dewalt compressor.

Dewalt Extended Tank Drain Kit specs from TSC website.
The key to a long lasting air compressor is regular maintenance. Each time your compressor runs, the moisture in the air condenses in the tank. This moisture must be drained daily from the tank to prevent water buildup. To make this daily maintenance task easy to perform, install the DEWALT Extended Tank Drain Valve Assembly.
Replaces current drain valve for ease in draining moisture from the compressor tank
Works on air compressors with 1/4 in. NPT drain valve
Includes elbow with pre-applied thread sealant, 10 in. flexible braided steel hose and quarter turn drain valve
175 PSI maximum working pressure

Flexible pipe is a good idea, like it.

I am going to add a section of hose and pass the hose through the wall so it just drains outside of the shed. I need to also relocate the power and air chuck on the outside of the shed.

It should only take this compressor 5 minutes and 50 seconds to fill completely to 150 psi before shutting off

This compressor is sure faster to fill than my old Husky 30 Gallon that I used today. I am using an Eastwood 50lb sand blaster and compressor works great. 60 gallons is awesome for running tools longer, I also have the 30 gallon and a 3 gallon compressor which each has its own role. Thanks

I bought this same model to paint an old truck . I really like mine . I added a transmission cooler to it so that I don’t get any water in the tank .

I want to build my own 40x60 metal building for a family business but still crunching numbers. If the buisness fails I will use the building as my shop / garage. I dont have any projects this weekend but let's see what pops up.

Great video. How do you like the compressor? How did the extended drain kit do with the liquids?

The compressor has worked great and 0 major issues. I had a minor issue and that was the belt and pulley came off due to a loose screw. I use the compressor for plasma cutting only but feel like its a good machine to own. The extendable drain makes draining the compressor easier but I would of used a non flexible kit if it was available in store.

If you were to guesstimate how long it takes to go from 0-155 psi...how long would you say it takes to get there, and how hot (touch wise) does it get? Thanks and great video!

I cant recall the time it takes but when I get home I can try that. It gets a little warm but depends how long it's being used. I due mostly plasma cutting and works great.

11 minutes with 10 seconds from empty to cut off. I am running it off my 10,000 watt generator.
