Hello...I would look at metal just like wood, this process might work, a metal fabricator could make some slip on legs but might be expensive, keep in mind to think outside the box like this design I came up with, I have had some say they didn't like the design which is ok with me, the table and chairs function real nice and it's amazing how u forget the leg extentions are different from the original legs, life is way to short to worry about everything being perfect. I'll keep thinking about ur set up and may come up with an idea and u let me know if u come up with a plan
Hello Karen, this would be the easiest way, home depot-lowes-menards have furniture risers u can but that sit under the chair, table, or couch, the ones I use for my couch are the clear circles that come in 2" increments...so for my couch I use 2 stacked on each back leg...and 3 on the front legs...gives the couch a nice higher position(easier to get on and off of) and a slight tilt back which feels comfortable, they also work great on beds too...I hope this helps, u could always buy them and if u don't like it take them back, u will see the clear disks for about the first week...then u won't even notice them anymore:)
I loved your comment, if it’s not on RU-vid it can’t be done . I just got a new table off of market place with a beautiful marble top. I wanted it to be 6 inches higher I thought I was gonna buy new table legs. They don’t exist. Then I got the idea to extend the length 6 inches. I’ve seen many of your videos I’m so glad you’re the one who solve the problem.
Hello. Finding wheels that tall would be tough. They are made but used for things like work benches in a shop...pretty bulky. I guess if I wanted wheels I could cut some of the leg extentions off and install them, the table got rave reviews at our Thanksgiving meal...I still need to add foot rests about 10 inches off the floor for comfort, I hope u find something that works :)
Yea, that kind of creates a whole new puzzle, I've been a carpenter for a very long time, doing projects with wood comes naturally...metal fabrication is a different way to reach a simular result but I'm lost in the woods there :), thanks for watching though!
You’re a badass. No one else has figured out how to do chairs. A bit too much work for me but I sat through the whole thing. I hope Jazz and Sammie are doing well.
Donald Dump I appreciate U hanging in there til the end! The chairs and table are a big hit with the family, sometimes we just have to take matters into our own hands and solve the puzzle.....thank U for swinging by! And Sammy and Jazz are becoming doggie stars...they show up in quite a few videos unannounced to me :)
Thank you sir. I’ve looked everywhere online for help doing this. So glad I found you. Love your results and I’ll going to up my dining set over the weekend. Thanks again. I really appreciate you.
U r very welcome...mine is holding up very well, if u have hardwood floors install felt on the bottom so u can scoot it around...good luck and be safe :)
Channell this way may work but doesn't look like the original legs which I don't mind. The table was given to me by my daughter and we love the extra height. Not sure about ur parents table. Being vintage it may hurt the value of it. My mom wanted an antique coffee table lowered to match her couch....instead I bought couch legs extenders and saved the vintage table :)...thanks for dropping by! Ps...is that Tony sopranos table? :)
Thanks for watching...I do appreciate it a lot. Probably not a video on the finish....u can buy super small cans of Minwax stains at any hardware store... little foam brush....plastic gloves for ur hands and u r ready to go....if u pick one that is too light...u can always go darker...but darker to lighter would be tough....once applied and dried u could apply a little stain sealer and u r done. Funny how nobody sells legs extentions for tables....we love ours....the added height is nice :)....I have videos stacked up waiting to produce....good problem to have:)
Just a touch up of simular stain, it's funny how since I did this project I never notice the extentions at all...but sure notice the new height...works great :)
Thank U very much!.....I am an A-symetrical channel for sure, all the big channels say only one niche is allowed....I say BS :).....variety is the spice of life😎
I have found that not all the answers can be found on youtube. I have solved many things by just sitting down with old fashioned pencil and paper and thought out how to solve and bring about a solution. I'm self-fitting my kitchen and I cannot stand seeing that under wall cabinet light wiring which we see showing even on high end kitchens.. I looked on You-tube and could not find it anywhere. I decided to purchase additional end panels and routered channels into the panels and it looks excellent; no wires showing.
Excellent! Solutions are out there for sure, and if not once u come up with an idea putting it on film and sharing it is cool! Sounds like you( if you haven't already) would make a great RU-vid creator :)...thanks for sharing that info...
No I sure don't....I call them hurricane straps buy actually they might be straps brick layers use to hold the brick against the exterior walls...either way a place like home depot or lowes will have them.....I'm guessing maybe .75 each...who knows with all the price hikes. One thing I'm going to add are foot rests at the bottom....like u see on bar stools.....they are holding up well.... thanks for watching:)
@@laffilmfest3759 Awesome, glad to hear they are holding up!! I have some bar stools my wife "Re-Krafted" that just aren't tall enough. Came to the tube for ideas!! Thanks for the fast response time!!
Hi Brian, sorry to disappoint u! About 99% of comments I get really like how I kind of tell stories as I lay out easy instructions to follow, but like yourself every once in awhile someone will make your point. As a RU-vid creator I just try to get the message out without being too boring, I appreciate your input and I hope u have a good day sir
