I love this idea! I have a 6 year old niece that would really enjoy picking out whatever material she wants for the patch I am going to try this. I love your videos so helpful. Where I live jean skirts are becoming very hard to find. these videos are helping those of us who want to stay modest thank you so much
Thank you, Im glad. I have a 5 year old niece and is such a girly girl. Im hoping to make her some when I get back to the states. I started doing this cause I couldn't find jean skirts that fit good or they are to short or just not cute, I want to feel pretty and not just settle for something that looks ok.
I like this a lot. I'm in the midst of making my 6 year old daughter one of these with fabric from a white lace skirt that don't wear anymore. It looks pretty so far. I've never sewn with denim before, though, and so I'm having some issues with thread bunching on the bottom. I'm finishing it no matter what, however. :)
The way I see it, everyone is at different stages in their sewing. The fact that it's finished and comfortable for her is awesome. I love seeing young people sew and just by watching I learned so that's a bonus for me. The thing with these skirts is anything goes so that's cool.
