Hey Stich. This is my first time reaching out after lurking... I don’t know if anyone else has commented something similar yet, but this video has caught my attention, because it addresses a clear frustration I’ve had with my 12 bars getting stagnant. I’d also particularly like to learn more about a haunting blues, and if possible some of your theory behind it, because I’ve had trouble finding resources online for such a thing. Thanks for doing what you do!

Good stuff. Your vibratos are tight and seemingly effortless. Try as I might, I can’t “vibrato” any string with any finger with any decent affect. in short, my attempts to incorporate them are awful. Do you have any how-to vibrato exercises/techniques etc Thx much

Hi stitch... I have a question why do we play only one pentatonic scale on 12 bar blues. Eg A minor pentatonic on A,D,E 12 bar progression. Why can't we play D minor pentatonic when D chord is played and E minor pentatonic when E chord is played? Regards.

My only question, is the E Dorian section meant to replace the turn around? It seems like it goes for longer than the typical 2 bars than a typical 12 bar turn around would take up?

This is exactly where I'm at! Thank you. I was having a lot of difficulty making the major scale sync with the pentatonic sound. The Dorian mode was awesome plus I like the three notes per string over two notes (pentatonic) for speed and color. I know the pentatonic minor and major in all keys and in all 5 boxes. I've been waiting to expand it. Question: is there a certain amount of boxes in the major scale to learn? And, should I tackle major and minor scales at the same time or stick to the major scale for now? Best teacher on you tube for sure!

Very interesting! Could You please explain why switching to Dorian mode works? E Dorian is an E minor while the E blues is in E Major. Sorry if the question is silly. Thanks I love Your lessons.

@lachenzo1

Hi if it helps it's because the E in D major is minor, So E Dorian is minor, we can start and resolve our progression on the E. Or choose any chord from D major and make it it the tonal centre easy way is start and finish on the chord. I have big problems with modes as how to think while playing lead ? Do most people think in the major its from or actually think in terms of a new pattern I hope stitch will do a lesson on the mindset of modes

Hey there Stitch, I am very grateful for your amazing content. Almost every video you put out triggers a little "ha ha" moment. I would really really love if you'd make a video to give your take on Alvin Lee's soloing. I think there is something very interesting and unique about the way he goes back down the pentatonic with some kind of sliding motion. Hopefuly some more people are interested. In any case thank you for your teachings, your way of understanding guitar playing really works for me.
