Hey guys, thanks for all the great content. As an absolute newby the information that you provide on a regular basis is priceless. Based on this video, I have a question. Can I apply abalone the same way if there is no adhesive side on the abalone itself?

Hmmm. That is a good question. We usually use something like color preserver to act as an adhesive to affix things to a rod blank. CP dries clear and can give you enough hold to last until you finish the abalone with something like prokote or thread master. It also depends on the abalone shell you have and how flexible it is. I would think getting the abalone to bend around the circumference of the blank would be the most difficult part.
