How to add Texture to your Watercolor Paintings 

I found that different brands of paint in the same color will have the salt reacting completely differently. You are really inspiring here and I have a billion projects fighting to get on my 'To Do' list after this video!!!

I look forward to your texture effects. I've seen most of these techniques before (though not stamping), but you seek and appreciate more subtle effects than other artists have, so that makes your tutorial unique.

Try the plastic wrap technique only use gauze. Cool marks

Fun to try different textures…I especially like the results from the coarse salt,stamping & the plastic wrap or Saran Wrap as it is called here🇨🇦..it is actually a brand name

What a great article. I decided this week to have a go at collage and mixed media so this appeared just at the right time! Off to make some textured sheets now, Sepia is one of my favourite pigments, along with Indigo. Thanks for this - nice to hear the word 'canny' as a North Shields lass!

I use the stiff brush to stipple over a dry wash. I just dip ends of bristles in paint and holding brush upright I dab away.

Hi Lou 👋. For the salt experiment, I think if you use a lot of water you will get better results. It's just a hunch, though. You can get really nice effects with granulating paints.

Fabulous and so different. Love all the experiments!

On top of your wet wash place a small piece of cardboard with ridges down. Leave until dry. The stripes will be light but not stark paper!
