You say to " . . . .rotate clockwise if door opens from left to right and rotate clockwise if door opens right to left." Was this a mistake or should one "rotate clockwise" regardless of which way the door opens?"
Yes it’s regardless of which way the door opens. I suppose I should of just said that. Lol I guess because I read the instructions that it came with and that’s how it had it written I didn’t think of paraphrasing it so it makes more sense.
@@Daddicated Thanks for uploading. But this is a major detail that matters HUGELY. Diy videos should assume the LOWEST common denominator with your viewers. You probably confused a lot of people, just saying. If a diy video makes people have to decipher an instruction when they are already having to decipher a task, that is a no go.
@@Daddicated just wanted to agree with this. I appreciate the instructions and video, but had to come to the comments to see if I misheard or what the scoop was. “Regardless of how your door opens, rotate the spring clockwise” would have been easier for me to understand, but I’m sure you already know at this point. Thanks for the video, though!
You can push the pin out versus trying to pull it out. There’s a hole behind that can’t be seen :) … my door is old, the spring is getting a wee bit weaker, so I had to increase the tension. I loosen detention, pushed a pin out, lined up the other hole, pushed the pin back in. Thank you for the video!!!
Which pin? The one that holds it the hinge in tension or the one you use to help get it in the right tension? If it's the one you leave it in there then no it shouldn't be easily to come off because it's in tension so that holds it in place.
@@Daddicated My husband says he has greased the hinge, but it still groans. But I don't think it had been oiled in a long time. We have 2 self-closing hinges on this door and a normal middle hinge. It seems to be the central hinge that is groaning. It has always groaned but it was getting louder. My husband removed the 2nd hinge, and now the door is quiet, so I guess ...problem solved. But now I feel like the like it scrapes when opening and closing against the strike plate.
This States: "How to adjust self-closing door hinge" NOT "How adjust after installing self-closing door hinge". The name that you chose insinuates the door hinge already exists but you want to adjust it again. This should be renamed so the audience avoids wasting time on an ad for a video that they did not intend to watch.
