Not a thing wrong with adjustable wrenches as long as yours fits well, not floppy, as cheap crappy ones are.

well ok !! u didnt tell everything!! is someone sitting in the truck ?? is it 1 turn at u touch the leaf ?/

Good point! Yes the driver was in the vehicle, and I jounce the suspension to try to settle it before adjustments on a level surface. Also I try to have just over 1/4 tank of fuel like we run at the track. And yes exactly 1 turn after barely touching. I actually use a zip tie for a drag resistance test to see when they're touching equally (slipping it in and out under the roller until I can't).

You really need to have the vehicle race ready, meaning how it sits in the staging lanes: Driver or drivers weight equivalent in the drivers seat, Proper amount of fuel, coolant/water, ballast ect., adjust tire pressures, adjust shocks (if adjustable).. also you don't have to "jounce" or whatever you're calling it... just push down on the bumper a couple of times and let it settle.. after a burnout that's how the vehicle is going to be sitting when you stage. Rocking the truck side to side back and forth is giving you those inconsistencies. Just my .02 but i've been setting up Caltracs like that forever.

SMH at the commenters. **** Personally I dont like the looks of stuff hanging down under my car. I do leaf springs the old school (sleeper) way, it works.... But not as convenient.

That’s amazing 🤩 yes we also saw HUGE improvements before even adjusting. I think possibly very little preload is the key. What setup are you running?

Please explain... "JOUNCE" 🤨
@TORQUESOUTH
@TORQUESOUTH 2 года назад
😹😃 I promise I won’t say it any more if it bothers so much 😭 I’m not an expert… for the short 17 years I worked at the local GM dealers as a master tech this terminology “JOUNCE” is used in SI (Service Information / Literature) as an effort to settle the suspension for alignment and similar purposes using the human body. It rhymes with bounce so… For instance you replace a control arm then you bounce your body on the bumper to let it settle in before performing alignment on a Hunter / Beam machine. I have heard stupider terminology such as “judder” - a word that doesn’t actually exist. As stated JOUNCE is terminology as well as instruction directly stated from manufacturer instructions. That being said we always open to learning, so please feel free to correct and inform us 🙏🏻 much appreciated! 🏁

Get rid of the damn crescent wrench!! Use a proper open ended box wrench!

Caltracs sells the wrenchs for adjusting. Its alot easier using the correct tool. And full turn is to much.

@@lifestoshortbed5027 Fuck that, I put 7 turns into mine!! Also, I used a big ol' 8 lbs pipe wrench to tighten mine down!! I tightened them suckers until the threads start moving!!
