Great coilovers! Got a set on my MR2 turbo. One rear started leaking, but I bought the car with them 6 years and 80000kms ago, so I think its pretty good quality
Thank you for the feedback! Install videos take a little more time to film but if we can get enough time to shoot one we will be happy too! Feel free to check back at a later date!
Raul, I couldn't responded to your comment (you might have posted from Google+, which still has issues with RU-vid). To answer your question, yes, you would just need to purchase a camber kit for the rear of your Civic if you get these D2 Coilovers.
+Hector Ramirez Unfortunately, we do not at the moment, only the install video. In general, it would be similar to the front. The only difference is that for the amount you drop the spring, you have to do the same to the shock. It's covered slightly in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VThXWWTArDM.html
I've seen around that the factory front strut for the 2014 Civics are a little different from previous years. People are saying there's no coilovers for the '14s yet. Have you guys ***** been able to check out the new models yet? I want to lower my car so bad but they only things right now are lowering springs.
We are looking to have them available as soon as they are released. We are currently waiting on the manufacturers to have them available, which we understand should be fairly soon.
+gladyboy We do offer coilovers for other import models. Please visit our sister site at: www.proimporttuners.com/parts/import-d2-racing-rs-full-coilovers.html
Quick question guys: I want to make car as soft as possible on D2 Suspension. How to make that set up? There are 3 rings. Two upper are purple (top one bigger, middle one smaller) and bottom one- black. And at the top, under the bonnet, there is some adjustment also. I'll be very grateful for your advice. Thank You!
+BMW Alpina Normally it would only dependent on the damper settings. The collars control height and spring preload. The bottom most sets the height. The 2 closest to the springs set the preload on it. It is normally best not to tension this too much or too little. Play with the settings on the damper for best results.
I drive a 2013 civic si coupe. You say that the front wheels have camber adjustment, so does that mean I would have to by a separate camber kick for the rear?
Hopefully you'll get a nice tax return this season then! If not feel free to check out our financing options on our site here: www.procivic.com/pages-financing/index.html
+Alex Haunhorst Generally, they can still be rotated by hand even with a good preload. You usually want the spring snug with no slop. Usually 2 mm past 0 slop is right around where you want it. You can adjust from there if they are not to your preference.
I had order D2s for my 04 Crv and they did not come with those washes for where the bolts go in on the mounts, would I be ae to go to any hardware store and buy as many of the. I would need or are they a special kind of washer?
Hi, I would contact the place you bought them from to make sure that you got everything that is suppose to be included. I am not familiar with the details of what's included with the CRV coilovers. My gut tells me you could just get a standard washer from a hardware store and it would be fine.
Boy, I tell you... somebody need to help them write a installation manual for these coilovers. I just got mine in for a 7th gen and went through the brochure they included and more than half the pages were nothing but warnings and caution when installing. Nothing about positioning the camber plates which are to run parallel to the window and how to set the perch if it arrived loose.
Keep in mind that the instructions are translated from a different language so you will find some interesting grammar and other fun stuff. Our install tips in this video can be understood easily and setting pre-load and ride height are pretty much the same process on your 7th gen. Give us a call or send us an email if you still need help and we'll be happy to clarify. Thanks!
I heard that the 2013 civic si and the 2014 civic si have different knuckle designs. I have the 2014 civic si and I'm thinking of buying these. Will this fit on the 2014 si?
Is the d2 coils offered in a one piece rear coil now like the fronts vs what's in video of a sperate shock and spring for the rear of the 2014 si? I seen someone had a pair
+Grant Gill They do not offer it in a one piece option. Those may have been custom or retrofitted. The way the suspension is set up, doesn't allow much room to fit a single piece coilover in the rear.
Hey do u guys have this coilovers on ur pro civic page I wanted to lower my car but haven't decided if I should get coilovers or lowsprings as now I think im goin to get the eibach sport-plus suspension kit but my question is if I do get the spring kit will i be able to install 18"sizes rims? N do I need to get a camber kit? O wait this is goin to be install on my 13 Honda civic si:) Thnks luis
Luis, we do have these coliovers on our site here: www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/category-69_80/product-974/index.html You should have plenty of room for the 18" wheels with the D2 coilovers or the Eibach Sportline springs as long as you get a normal wheel offset and width. (18x8 with 38-45mm should be fine). It's definitely a good idea to get a camber kit for your vehicle if you are planning to lower it. Correct camber adjustment can help you reduce uneven tire wear and improve handling!
Thnks for ur help. I think I just made a decision im goin to go with the eibach sport-plus kit but before I order them I have another question is it true I have to get a alignment wen I installed them will pepboys will do this kind of alignment or I will need to go to a performance shop sorry for the dumb question this my first time I do something like this on a car lol
It's definitely a good idea to get an alignment after you lower your car. Any alignment shop will be able to adjust the toe angle of your vehicle but you will need a camber kit to correct camber (Which is highly recommended). Check out the camber kits on our site here: www.procivic.com/pages-main_pg/category-69_83/suspension-camber-kits.html You can also call us if you need additional advise and we will be happy to help. Our telephone number is: 805-275-2237
On the 8th gen and above (2006+) it's strongly recommended since the rear already allows for -1 degree of camber from the factory! That means your rear wheels already have negative camber before you even lower it.
Is there a specific side each Spring is suppose to go? I know the fronts have a left and right direction? But what about the spring? My spring is running against my exhaust and I've checked the rubber isolator sand exhaust mounts and they're all fine.
+TheNuke95 The rear springs do need to go on their respective side. They will not sit correctly otherwise. Some exhaust systems need slight adjustment to clear all components.
We certainly do offer exclusive discounts to military personnel. Email our customer care department with a list of the parts you're looking to purchase and they can help you from there. Their email address is: customercare@procivic.com
If anyone could possibly help me out... I REALLY need to know what size Allen hex wrench to use for my D2 coils (I drive an 87 Supra) since my friend who sold me the coils couldn't find his damping adjustment knobs. Thanks in advance
Sorry, wish I could help you out man. We don't have that set in stock to tell you. It is likely it shares the same adjuster know size as other D2 coilovers though.
i bought d2 SL for my rsx, I adjusted m pre load and the spring doesn't move, im low to the ground on my ride height adjustment but these things are bouncy I hit a bump they bounce back and fourth a lot like cut springs, no its not a blown coilover
Sounds like you need a professional to take a look at your RSX. If you don't know how to setup the coilovers, have someone with experience look at it. We have an install video where we show how to install and setup the coilovers: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VThXWWTArDM.html
Matt Nigro Might be because you bought the SL series, we normally just sell the RS series, and that's what this video is about. The RS series has a great spring rate. I've personally rode in many different cars running them. Also keep in mind you can adjust the spring pre-load in the SL or RS series, so this might help you out in terms of ride quality. For this install video, we left the pre-load as it was from the factory, and it was just fine.
i have a question do we have to use the tools that was in the box u gave us or can we just use a flathead and a hammer to make my car lower my car is dropped but i want it SLAMMED SCRAPPING DAILY
Keoni, if you choose not to use the tools provided, you could damage your coilovers or your car. Having the car "slammed scrapping daily" is possible, but again, we just can't advise doing it due to potential driveability issues.
***** yea i get it having a car slammed is very hard to drive espically on bumps and some hills but its to make my car looks nicer by the way we can slammed a car on d2's right? i still have alot of thread on it to use its really nice coilover
***** and only reason why i ask if we can use just a flathead and hammer so we can lower my car its because i lost my tools u it came with the order lol i have to find it
Keoni Side You can do it this way, but just be very careful. Also might be best to wrap the end of the screwdriver in something so it does not scratch the metal on the coilover rings. You might be able to find something that works better than a flathead screwdriver too.
I have those on my 2012 si coupe. Driver side front only makes a rattle noise on gravel road or bumps on road going 8-15mph. Any one else has this problem?
rperrells I think you need to check your install and make sure everything is tight. Maybe try our hammer and flathead screwdriver technique shown in the install video for this product: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VThXWWTArDM.html
Hey SuperNouvo, All coilovers do not have the necessary parts to adjust the rear camber. To adjust the rear camber you would need a rear camber kit . You can find them here: www.procivic.com/pages-main_pg/category-69_83/suspension-camber-kits.html
Cody, D2 lists these as 2012+ we haven't tested them on a 2014 model yet but from everything we have heard they should work just fine. There was a minor change in OEM Honda part numbers between 2013 and 2014 but we think it was just a spring rate adjustment or other minor change. www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/category-69_80/product-974/index.html
The image on our site is a default picture. The ones shown in this video are the 9th gen (2012+) application. If you select the 2012+ coilovers on our site you will receive the correct ones with separate spring and shock in the rear as shown in this video.
+jakeromero86 No, it would not be possible to control rear camber with camber plates since it is not a McPherson strut style. It will require a different camber kit, usually a camber arm is best.
+Edward Uchiha I personally think dropping more than about 2.5" is a bit too much. You only need to purchase a rear camber kit if you get these D2 coilovers (they come with a built in front camber kit). Even if you lower your car 3"+, you can still easily correct the camber so it does not look "cambered out".
Keoni Side I don't remember us having this issue, but you can certainly loosen or remove that one part of the sway bar if it is getting in your way. Just use the appropriate socket.
***** I went to your web side and I could not find this kit, it just show me the coilovers and I need exactly this kit with the spring I have a 2014 civic SI sedan, and I would like to put this in my car. but I want the whole thing as you just showed and when I go to the web side it just show me the coilovers.
The D2 Racing Coilovers we show on our site are the correct ones for your Civic The springs are just separated in the back for these applications, and the picture we show on our site is a general representation. If you order the ones for your car on our site, rest assured they will work and you will get the front and rear springs as well. D2 Racing just released the 2014 Si coilovers, and we have them in stock now, so feel free to order: www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/product-974/index.html.
That sucks, sorry to hear that! If the coilovers are damaged, email us at customercare@procivic.com and we can possibly provide you with a special discount on replacements.
