This is the first time I've heard/read/whatever that the lean back tensioner requires so many turns to achieve min/max tension. I've been suffering for years and now after 30 seconds I have the maximum tension I've always wanted. Thank you!
This is a must watch for anyone with a HM classic Aeron chair! It was super helpful to learn that the tilt tension knob can be turned ~100 times to adjust how far back you want to tilt. Your clear instructions also helped me master the forward and backward tilt adjustments (which are not well documented in the adjustment manual PDF online). Thank you so much!
I bought one of these chairs from Crandall Office Furniture about 1 1/2 years ago and it was a fantastic experience! My chair still appears new and is working perfectly. I highly recommend purchasing a refurbished chair from them because you'll save a LOT of money and they offer a 12 year warranty.

Thanks so much for this. Just helped me realise the second hand Aeron I've just bought is not working fully as it should (it has the levers for the tilt limiter and forward tilt adjusters, but they don't actually do what they're supposed to).

Aeron chairs are the best but one feature that Herman Miller missed on the design was to allow the a slideable adjustment that could control distance from how far back you could slide the back rest from the actual seat.
underrated comment this bothers me kind of a lot as they got a lot right but they don't allow you to be as flexible with your sitting as they easily could
@@Hello-kr8gj Probably because this is a very opinionated chair, and HM intends it to serve a very specific purpose and not necessarily "comfort" for everyone.
@@CrandallOfficeFurniture it would probably complicate the design and add cost and now there is probably a bit of harley syndrome where the design has become too iconic for its own good holding the functionality back. Maybe they will make a hybrid based on this and the embody for the back control and adjustable seat pan. if you know of a better mesh chair I would be very interested as options seem strangley limited.
Just took my HM from Crandall Office out of the box & had to search for how to adjust the seat angle. A lot of videos, including ones from COF, show 2 different tension nobs to adjust, one for seat back tilt & one for seat angle. I finally found this one with controls that look like the ones on my chair. I’m 5’3” & 135lbs, bought a B model. I cannot easily move the seat back tilt and I cannot adjust to seat angle at all. I had to have my husband sit in the chair & set the controls for me. It’s frustrating that I’m already disappointed in my purchase straight out of the box.
The forward tilt adjustment (minute 3:44) is the the one adjustment that determines comfort, more than any other. It's optional. If you can't adjust tilt, the Aeron is the most uncomfortable chair you can buy.
I like how much it opens up my shoulders and chest, but sinking into the seat some on the back and having the firm frame pad at the front of the seat digging into my low hamstrings is unpleasant. I've heard some people concerned about the pressure it puts on their sciatic nerve. Forward tilt helps but I can't lock it in a forward tilt (can I?). What do people do about the front edge firmness of the chair?
Sorry for the late response, unfortunately you can't lock into forward tilt. The edge firmness is definitely a common complaint of the Aeron. There is a black banana pad under the front end of the seat if removed that has helped some of our customers to experience more comfort with their Aeron.
Dumb question, but is it normal for the tilt limiter to disengage when you get out of the seat? When I get up I hear the tilt limiter disengage. I have the reset the tilt limiter everytime. Is this normal?

Hi there, I bought Herman Miller Aeron Classic chair. It supposed to be with limiter and forward tilt. It’s leaning back, I can get rocking function but there is nothing to stop it in the point where I would feel the most comfortable. It doesn’t have them two buttons which you are talking about in 3 minute - Tilt limiter - I guess. On the pictures on website the chair doesn’t have them controllers as well. I wonder why is that if in the description of the chair is that it should come with tilt limiter. Is there another version of Herman Miller Aeron Classic Chair? Anyone had the same problem as me?
Great vid but what do you do when you turn the height adjustment screw too much and the actuator broke and the chair is now stuck at the highest height and won't go down?

I think my second-hand Aeron is broken. The forward tilt doesn’t do anything. It should lift my bum up but the back of the seat plate is still very sunk.

I bought one of these chairs size B, big mistake for me since my shoulder blades hurt when leaning back in this chair. I wish I had ordered the size C, making it a little taller for my back. I am always searching for any info. about the sizes but never see anything about it. Is there away I can exchange the size B-back for a size C back? Or is it all having to be the same size?
While we agree that a headrest adds a lot to the chair, we have found that the Atlas Headrest is the best solution both functionally as well as visually :) Glad that one works well for you though! Thanks for watching!!
