If I adjust the timing chain, do I have to adjust the valve?! Now I checked my 2018 Raptor 700, the lines are not parallel to each other. But there are no faults or phenomena in the Raptor, it drives properly and does not falter and there are no phenomena whatsoever.
Hi!May I ask you a question? I don't know what the previous owner did, but when I try to bring the piston to TDC aligning all the marks, it will close the exhaust valve and after passing the TDC sign, it will start to open the intake valves. This looks like 180 degree offset. Do you think the camshaft was modified?
Turn the crank 360 degrees and that should bring you to TDC Compression. Sounds like you were TDC Exhaust, 360 out on the crank, 180 out on the cam. -Charles ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tizc5y1wijI.htmlsi=SfvDOs8-6IWUSeJv
Do you guys sell a parts kit for this? Can I just order this without looking all of those parts up? Also those valve tappet tools are a bit of alright.
@Ben Bush yeah, I did but the guy doesn't explain how to tighten them, he just shows what it sounds like when the valves are loose and how they sound within spec. The first bit is out of spec the second is after they've tightened them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kSdEIb9IsCo.html
Mine is getting hard to start and it’s been popping for a while. What should I do if it’s still popping? It’s fuel injected. Also it shuts off randomly so hopefully this fixes it.
If your bike is popping it may be needing more octane gas, a higher octane gas will be better for predetonation. It may be in need of a tunner if you have aftermarket air filter or no lid, aftermarket exhaust or no silencer. Basically the bike is tuned for stock form and any alteration will cause popping in the muffler or internal. Either way it’s something you want to address sooner than later. Valves can be burnt and excessive heat will be noticeable.
We use NGK CR8eix it’s the iredium “upgrade” CR8e is stock copper I believe. Both are acceptable. If bike is stock it needs no more than factory recommended. Our intervals are around 25-30hrs on average
The tappet tools we show in the video came as a kit, and was affordable when it was available so we didn't specify. The manual lists 3mm and 4mm tools, but to be sure, I would pop the covers off and measure. -Charles
