My personal preference is to keep the XY really close to each other. I also offset Y to move the rules off the table. That puts the flippers closer to where they would be on a real table in relations to buttons on my cab and keeps the XY at 1:1. Everyone's setup an preferences are different. I love the new settings, they are a great improvement! Thanks for the video!
I think it's interesting that when you pre-populate your actual screen settings in the VPX setup screen the numbers for the Point of View Window setting can be completely different from one computer to the next. For example, I tried your specific settings and there were areas off screen and it didn't look right. With my settings (0.0, -8.2, 105.9%, 100.9%, 36 cm, 6 cm, 0 cm, 20cm, 100cm) it looks fine. I also heard it's good practice not to keep the the Table X Scale and YZ Scale more than 5% from one another before things start looking out of proportion. I did use your tutorial on side walls and love the finished look (thank you again for that). On a side note, I still struggle on just how much to show of the top of the table. One part of me like the hard-coded artwork and lights at the top, but another part of me thinks some of the tables look a little shrunken down on a 40" LCD. Nascar is a great example. Do I really need to see the entire truck at the top of the screen?
@echodun it's because of the starting numbers in your video cabinet settings. If you had the same numbers that I have it would look the same no matter the size of the screen. As for the rest it really is just personal preference.
@@rudysarcade It makes me regret, in part, that they even added that configuration section to VPX in the latest version. All of us used to at least have a similar starting point. Now someone else's .ini settings may look completely different than another person's. It kinds of breaks the system. I've been debating whether my Window Bottom Z actually looks better as a -6 versus a +6 just because it looks more laid back with a negative number.
@@echodun actually if you add your cab numbers to the ini it will look the same for everyone. Thats why I leave my default at 0 so if I share my pov it will work for anyone.
