Ever stood at the base of your tree contemplating the correct "angle of attack" before climbing? This video will alleviate much of the stress that goes into that ... and give you freedom to climb trees with huge bases that narrow significantly as they tower overhead.

Just an FYI … I’ve heard LW changed the design in the last couple years and this may not work any more, so don’t get frustrated if it doesn’t.

well I advise practicing this before at height. I tried adjusting it yesterday and I pulled the strap to far and the bottom fell. I was only 6’ up and was able to get down but if I was up there I would be calling for help. Im sure I would never live that down.
@StaggsintheWild

Yes … Always keep your top and bottom parts connected via the strap.

I have the assault climber. The smaller platform one. I can't seem to get the knobs to turn when I'm done hunting. I. Almost have to use plyers!!! Also, the bars refuse to collapse. Major pain in the butt!!!! I've already sent one platform back, now this one is doing it
@StaggsintheWild
@StaggsintheWild 3 года назад
You definitely have to wiggle the bars a bit, and you can’t get one bar too far ahead of the other one or it will bind. Sometimes it’s like the knobs tighten back up if you over-loosen them; I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but it helps to tighten them a bit after running them all the way to their loosest setting. Hope that helps a little.

Use a Q-tip and add some gun oil to the slot. Works just fine after that!

i have 4 lone wolf climbers, my brother has 2, my other buddy has 2. some are sit and climbs, and some are like the one you had in the video. aint a one of them that opens or closes that easy. i wouldn't dare try this with the ones we have....it would be a no go for sure.
@StaggsintheWild
@StaggsintheWild 6 месяцев назад
You just haven’t used them enough. It’s not trick photography… but then again, I hunt more than 98% of the people in the country probably.
@myronman3
@myronman3 6 месяцев назад
Not used them enough? Brother, i bought one of the very first ones years ago- 1997 i believe- radically different than the current design. And that is probably the easiest one to open/close. I am not trying to be critical of you- i am just stating that of all the lone wolf climbers i have experience with, not a one of them open/close as easy as yours. So one of two things is in play here: either you know something i dont about making them open and close; or you have an outstandingly well put together stand. If i can learn something to make them better, i am all about it.
@StaggsintheWild
@StaggsintheWild 6 месяцев назад
@@myronman3 I don’t think I have any special knowledge on how to operate them than the next person. I’ve had the same experience with all three of these stands I’ve owned … the only thing I can think of that would make them easier to open and close is just continued use. Before I started using a saddle to hunt with I opened and closed those suckers over 100X a season for nearly 15 years. But maybe I’m just making it look easier on video than it is … it does require a bit of effort; I’m not saying it doesn’t.

Need Help as a total rooky , have the lone wolf rs-7, also MOS-5 seat & pad, where do I get the belt and adjuster like yours for my seat , having no lucl with the company , I am in New Zealand, great help todate for me to understand this system, better than all the rest for me-
@StaggsintheWild
@StaggsintheWild 3 месяца назад
Hi to New Zealand!! The hand climber just comes with that belt system; I didn’t add anything to it. But not a lot of guys have figured out how to adjust it at height.

Does the assault platform give you enough room? Seems tiny esp 20 feet up. Man I don't know how I would feel doing that high up.
@StaggsintheWild
@StaggsintheWild 2 года назад
That’s an Alpha hand climber, not an Assault. But I would have zero problems doing it on an Assault either. I literally did this hundreds of times over the past 30 years.

@@StaggsintheWild I think I would just have to practice thus technique often, until I could do it instinctively. I have been using an equalizer which us extremely comfortable, rock solid etc... but a pain to carry and pack and a bit noisy. Trying g to find a used LW hand climber is really difficult. Thanks for sharing your tips
@StaggsintheWild
@StaggsintheWild 2 года назад
@@joeinterrante7873 just make sure your top and bottom are connected via those stabilizer straps; then, nothing major can go wrong.

Lmao that climber is the exception to adjusting a fn climber 20ft in a tree. 99% of every other climber is not made with such easy platform adjustments. If climbers were all made as a standard with that type of easy platform adjustments you wouldn't have made this video
@StaggsintheWild

And that’s why I use a LW hand climber 😁😁👍
