Great video. What is the purpose and location of the original webbing tabs that fold over and have a hole in each end. I don't think you put them in your boat after moving them?
Oh its a mod/hack that I do to the Pyranha backbands because the factory installs it through the seat hole which works for most but I like a higher sitting backband so I put those on there to lift it up here’s a link to the video I did on that process and why ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VXk9kOKfavo.html
I think this is pretty much the same seat that's in my P&H Scorpio. I've been wondering about the knee/thigh pads. Should my kneecap be under the pad or in front of it? It seems a bit more comfortable if my knee is under the pad. Otherwise, the material around the edge of the pad digs into the skin at the rear edge of my kneecap.
I've had a lot of problem with that bottom bracket. It's too soft steel/aluminium so if you don't align the screw and hit it correctly then it's easy to damage the threads on the bracket. Also they could have added a little "dip" in the bracket screw hole to more easily guide the screw in place. If they improved the bottom bracket then it would improve it a lot. If you screw up the threading on the bottom bracket then you can turn it around and try. If it's screwed up on both sides then drill though and use nuts but it's hard to tighten the screws unless you weld the nuts to the plate. Bottom line Pyranha should find a better solution for the bottom bracket and if they do then the system is fine.
That’s a lot of work just to adjust a seat. As far as ease with adjusting a seat, I like Jackson, but when it comes to thigh hooks, pyranha and dagger. There’s just Pros and cons to every manufactures outfitting but that’s just how it is 🤷♂️
@@TheOfficialDOP hahah well good thing is it paddles perfect where it’s at really no need to adjust it I just wanted to do a quick video try help out the paddlers saying it’s difficult
@@WadeHarrison yeah definitely hear you on that, great info though bro, I’ve told you plenty of times, your channel provides a great service to the kayaking community. If I need a tip on something, more than likely you’ve covered it on a video
Hell yeah thank you !!! I’ve been wanting to move my seat forward in my ripper a little bit and wasn’t exactly sure how. This helps a lot ! Thanks Wade !! You forgot re install your back band mod.😂
Thanks so much. This was precisely what I was looking for. I wanted so move the seat forward in my Ripper 2 and wasn't sure it was possible. Very helpful.
I found an easy way to support bottom bracket. Remove bolts completely from upper bracket, slide large cable tie through one hole in bottom bracket then through hole in deck and upper bracket. Easy to line up other bolt hole, insert bolt into other hole, tighten up, drop cable tie out, put in second bolt. Worked this out from outfitting older Prijon kayaks which used similar seat mounting.
@@WadeHarrison Right on. I might mess with it this summer I'm on the taller side and was looking for a little more leg room. This video is very helpful. Thanks!!
