Question: on the water bottle and throw bag. you just cut a through hole on your front foam block to attach a bungee string/rope? also, what buckle is that that holds the throw bag?
Hey Wade do u mind me asking how tall u are? I run my seat in the middle holes, I have the Thigh Hookers installed and I notice ur mounting ur aluminum bracket 3 open holes from the front. I have the OEM foot pad on the OEM foot rest pod. I'm in a 2021 Machno. When I see how much ur knees are bent and the angle of ur feet it's got me wondering if I shud tighten up my position one more hole in the aluminum bracket (2 holes exposed). Ur thoughts?
Hey, I would love to see a video that provides a template or measurements for the heel block. I tried to make one for the ripper, and it ended up just being a massive waste of mini cell foam lol.
@@WadeHarrison I agree with Wyatt, a video on this would be super beneficial. Where do you pick up foam like that or is it just older foot block foam that you used by cutting it to shape to fit there?
@@WadeHarrison I'd love to see more detail on this too. Just got a Scorch X yesterday, so outfitting it today. Also would appreciate more info on what float bags you like, especially for the X where's there's more boat to fill up. Thanks again for all your content.
I'm finding the most irritating thing in the Stout 2 is the nuts on the forward knee brace screws actually digging into my knees...probably gonna glue some foam over them.
Wade - Brilliant outfitting tips ~ (definitely will utilize for Scorch X outfitting) - curious about the foot block - I've seen others drill holes (make the main block like swiss cheese) and then sandwich that w/ thinner foam to absorb hits. Have you ever messed with that strategy? Also on the seat shims... You do that in lieu of the bigger shims that come with the boat, yeah? (I'm looking to improve connectivity in the X) - All the Mahalos for sharing your experiences and insights - saves a tonne of trial and error - SALUD!
The seat shims were some dagger hip pad foam that in a small wedge I just glued it in there. And as far as the bulkhead I have seen paddlers putting holes in foam to add extra impact but really I think of foam out the bulkhead it’s fine I do wish Pyranha would give you a thicker block to work with.
Hey Wade - great content as ever! I demoed the Ripper 2 this weekend - loved how the boat paddled, but felt like the back band and hip pads sat very low on my back and hips, and not very secure almost like i'd slip out the boat on capsize. Is this kinda what the Scorch felt like before you made your adjustments, and does it feel more secure now if so?
I had to do something to stop it going in, I’m 6’3 with adult sized hands. I’ve lost the ends twice, one on the river the other in the pool… I had to get tiny hands to help me, I’d even tried the bend back on the ratchet. Seems to be holding though
There’s supposed to be some wavesport boats delivered to USA and will have review on one if get in one I have paddled the Phoenix and have some content on it
They still make a Diesel ? I have a 2009 Diesel 70 and 2008 Habitat 74. I'm same size as you. You're welcome to them anytime....currently outfitting my scorch 😊. Really appreciate your coverage of this topic. Foam at your knees /thigh hook and feet looks to be 2" or 3" thick? My knees are always knocking around. I've got to fix that!
I have made my own for my boat out of layers of stock foam it came with . Nothing aggressive but it helps. I actually would like to add more to mine but it makes the seat slightly uncomfortable. I'm tall and skinny so I have fitment issues every where lol.
The Stout 2 is dam solid if you take a little time set it up, I added foam Under my thighs works just fine and with the hookers installed the Pyranha thigh hooks are really good better then daggers
Jakob there’s a guy I know how has installed full Contour outfitting in his Scorch L. It made the boat even heavier, but it looks awesome, and he claims it is stronger and safer that way. It is doable!
