@@DoctorGalactor Because Strive is kinda a baby game to make beginners feels good I wouldn't dismiss them removing it because it makes new players feel bad, but even if it was in the game you would literally never do it because it takes the same amount of commitment and gives way worse reward. People only want it because they've internalized "burst throwing" as something hype even though it would be literally the same as baiting a burst with a jump cancel block in Strive
Watching older guilty gears I was always impressed by the air throws. It's not to say it's less impressive seeing the sauce behind them but it makes sense how often they seem to work.
Something to note as well that I learned from PepperySplash, was to dash FD brake crouch block at a range where you can react to aggressive options. If they airdash to escape the corner, they'll fly over your head, and you react and throw them back into the corner.
The music made me feel like I was going insane. I thank Romolla's comedic timing & the editor for the respite they provided throughout the video. An interesting watch nonetheless :p
holy shit, thank you so much for making a guide on this subject. air throw is my single favorite thing to do in GG. i promise to use this knowledge for the forces of good and defend the skies from filthy pirates. god bless
Fun detail, but if you play +R, Dizzy j2S in that game is throw invuln. It's the only case of a thrown invincible air move in the franchise. ( and most people think it's an unpatched bug )
The weird throw hurtboxes on jumps is probably why my friend always feel like he gets SUCC’d in when I air throw him in Xrd. I didn’t even know they were like that I’m just always pressing j6H as Sol.
For airgrabbing really close to the ground, my personal drill is to tatami a training dummy in the corner (Xrd Baiken) and to attempt an airgrab just as the dummy auto-techs.
I have to ask can you air throw them if they are jumping in on you with an air attack, I.e. sol’s j.H? Also thank you for this guide. As someone who regularly plays +r and xrd it’s very helpful
