Problem is their assessed value is based on speculative balloon pricing , everyone knows that house is not worth that but municipalities are getting away with it.

If you have a non-commercial property, generating no profit$, no income, then what are they taxing? Your RIGHT to own property?

Would you just prefer an income tax? Higher sales tax? Other fees and increases?

Brother, there is NO real reason for the increases in the first place. Please don’t take a position anything remotely for the government, because they are a machine that keeps eating sovereignty away from the private citizen. They will NEVER stop until we stop them. If they need more money (which they don’t) then they can cut costs with frivolous programs and the like. Property tax needs to GO, period because it’s rent to the state. That’s unforgivable in the USA, and a powerful step towards communism.

The question ALWAYS is....(examples for a point) My value went up $100k, that means $2k more taxes , did the local tax area have costs go up that much too? Shouldn't it be based on local costs and budgets?
