I just recently change to towel grip, dude you don't how much I needed to see that end cap wrapping.. lol it is so hard to make it at right angle. Also that bump with cushion wrap is new to me too. wth thank you
I have recently just used an overgrip but it increased the weight and feel of the racket too much. Just curious how much the average towel grip weighs?
Electrical tape is for preventing any water form enter the wooden handle! And cushion wrap is just to get some comfort and a softer feeling so it won't be like holding a sharp wood! Hope that helps :)
You could! But it just won't be waterproof and I think Viktor used it for adjusting the thinkness of the grip. But feel free to test anything that works fpr you
I never knew of left handed grip and right handed grip. Always used a right handed towel grip which my stringer puts on. Do you really think as a left hander, left handed grip would be a difference?
Hi I recently bought yonex DX grip off eBay Love it thin feels like a super grap but one issue am I gripping it wrong? I’ve used the custom wrap except the tape and I like it when it goes damp due to this I’ve got a cut on my thumb now? Shall I use less powder? Thanks
Hey! Love to hear that you're loving it! And sorry to hear that it hurt you:( from your description and my experience, it could be that the wrap is a bit too thin for your hand. Or! The wooden handle from the racket is a bit too sharp. Maybe another layer of the cushion wrap, or even the base tape will help it. Please let me know if there's more question:))))
Because they look flashy and they have sponsors so they use light colour so can easily know when the grip gets darker or changed colour they should change the grip
@@shuttlefever8268 thank you so much for replying and thank you for adding information in which position you will follow based on which hand you use, thank you! very useful!!
the cushion won't makes a different! (but I've tried other brands one they're thinner so need more wraps) and for the towel only yonex's ac402dx are as thin as ac102 after done gripping other brands are thicker if you don't mind them
poor way to grip the electrical tape and too much coushion wrap and then an already thick and heavy towel grip wil make the racket handle very heavy and the racket will becom difficult to play with.
Yup! I think starting on top will be better coz the starting point can be the same everytime and that will be good for consistency. However I think for us starting from bottom will be easier to learn :)
Because in single you have more work to do like defence and attack and sweat more while double you have less work as you know 1 player up front and back so you won't sweat as much.
excally the sweat is the reason! and it's faster to switch from grips, adjusting from short to long and forehand to backhand. But there's also some player using towel grip, I guess they just have really sweaty hand xD
Yea dx ver is a bit rare if not located in Japan. Hmmm but if you want thin towel grip Li-Ning and victor has a thinner version too! Though I haven't try it before
Most of the professional players do not have well wrapped grip. They probably change their grip every week and imagine if they have 5 racquets to do that? Look at Lin Dan's racquet, he didn't even wrap the whole handler. The point is, just wrap how you feel comfortable.
I think Lin Dan might be a extreme example 😂😂😂 he has his “own” style haha. But at least from what I noticed most of the players nowadays grip their grip pretty nicely! 👍
