Been looking for a good description of this process. I appreciate the vids and consistent discussion! I can easily skip around on the video if I'm in a hurry, but will usually go back later on because I'm interested in it all. Thank you!
Thank you for making this video! It's very helpful for newbie like me. I always thought the expensive edge machine is the only way to get the beautiful edge, now I know the cheaper trick. 👍👍👍👍
I have never tried heating my paint, I always thought it would leave carbon on the edge creaser. You said something about it being clean with alcohol lamp, what solvent do you use in your lamp that does not deposit carbon on the edge creaser. I would like to give it a try
Thanks for the a good overview about edgecoat. I use just burnishing, but I actually am kinda annoyed with the fact that the pure beeswax I use at the end is sticky. What should I mix it with to reduce stickiness?
Jun, can I ask do you know for 100% certainty that the giadarni paint can not be used with heating method. Or is this just from your own experience? Many Thanks.
Giardini edge coat is "designed" to be used without heat. it supposed to give you the same result as heatable edge coat. now, if you "heat" the edge coat, you are not using them as "instructed".
I have used another technique with good results (edge is perfect on watch straps used for years) I use Fenice too. After paint i use friction to add head (burnish with canvas or some heavy fabric.) Don't use a canvas cloth you have used with bees wax, it will result in bad adhesion. Btw awesome guides on your channel. Liked and subscribed.
I was wondering if you have any feed back related to stahl edge paint? Are they any good if you have used them? I can purchase this brand in my neck of the woods but don’t know if they are actually any good as I haven’t seen any feed back from you in your video related to stahl edge paint ...
Thanks for this video! I understood that iron creaser makes smooth and beautiful edges, but I have still doubts. Except price, what is the difference between iron creaser and electric creaser?
Electrical(expensive ones) creaser can adjust temperature very accurately. They have a knob with numbers. Each number can be translated into temperatures. you can also do crasing+round the edge of the leather.
Jun you might want to keep the object to focus a little far away from the Camera to focus on it and stick to it. I would have loved to see the process of application that you were doing but it got blurred out

Wow, you are probably the ONLY leatherworker that I've seen on RU-vid that does this many steps for everything. Guessing it will make the edge last longer than the other methods I've seen. I didn't know leatherwork could be so complex.
+Bushcraft Beats google "rocky mountain leather supply" the leather called "Buttero" is really nice to work with. it is great leather for beginner to professionals
Now you see, specifying the grit for the sanding is something I haven't seen before, but damn that's good information to know. I've always wondered why you would ever sand after finishing an edge- surely it would just undo everything you did. But the 1000 grit makes sense.
