Great and informative video! I just moved back to Canada from Vietnam. I was teaching English there for the past year. My friend from Hanoi wanted to move to Canada with her young son, but was turned down for some reason. She met all the qualifications (job offer, money in the bank etc) but the reason was not clear as to why she was denied. I would like to help her, and anyone else struggling to some to our beautiful country. My question to everyone in this thread is: a) What are some of the reasons you are denied to work in this country? b) What is the one thing you're missing on your application? c) If you had help from a Canadian citizen, what would you ask them for? wow, i absolutely loved this video. very informative! i do have a question, though. as a citizen of an EU country, i am not required to get a VISA to enter Canada. i need what is called an Electronic Travel Authorization or eTA. so, technically, since i don't need a Work VISA, am i allowed to look for employment and then a Work Permit while i'm visiting? because there are no eTA types (tourist, work, student) it's just eTA.

I believe that, in this application process, my future employer can apply for my work permit in Canada only after they provide me a job offer letter. And by referring the to the data on the CIC I see normal processing time for the work permit for the outsiders in 3 months which means, I have to wait for almost 3 months to actually get on the payroll of my future employer after I get the offer letter from them. Do employers generally really wait for almost 3 months for the candidate until his/her work permit gets approved? If not, how this process works? What happens during the period from employer offers a job offer letter till employee's work permit gets approved? Thanks again for the wonderful video

Hi. Me and my friend just got a job offer and an employment contract from a canadian employer/company. My friend already filled out the LMIA form that was sent to her via email then she sent it back to the employer. I was wondering why she was advised to pay for a processing fee. She was even advised that the work permit will be processed within 4 to 6 weeks.

So it sounds like sponsorship through big a company or enterprise is required. I am a single american hairdresser bilingual in French and English looking to move to Montréal and most of the salons that I have applied for are small private businesses. So after hearing this, I am essentially ruled out and I should give up now because it doesn't sound like a small private business would sponsor me. there goes my hopes and dreams...:(
