Yesterday I was lamenting that that I never know when the IQP d5 break is on then I came across this video. Now I know to calculate in every position without the blockade! Thanks Andras! The analysis in the first game reminds me of the first game in Mauricio Flores Rios' book on structures (Zvjaginsev vs Vasquez).

really like this kind of content. There are to much beginner tutorial, not enough intermedate materials for player aiming for 2k rating online. Thx very much . pls keep up the good work

Really great content again. I almost always avoid entering into any IQP without calculating whether I can promptly push the pawn. A little more calculation in those situations and I'll have a more diverse arsenal. How about a video on how to build up your own opening file? If, for example, you don't have chessbase

Hi! Good video but I have a question. My question is, is it good to always attack? For example,in a King's indian attack with me as black, I would start pushing the h and g pawns without caring about the a or b pawns. Is this mindset good? I would like if you did a video on it,to explain how to attack and in which cases attacking is BAD. Thanks!

Attack is based on circumstance, not mindset. That's the short answer:)

I have learned from your vids to calculate better and to calculate positions i might not ever have regarded as possible when i seem to lose material but activity is gained which often seems to work out tactically or positionally.

Played a 86% accurate blitz game last night where enemy was allowed to get a pawn to the seventh rank but i calculated that i win a knight and was able to swarm the pawn after and win it back and i feel before i definitely wouldnt have considered such a thing. My chess has definitely improved since finding your channel. I think you play really beautiful active chess. Its just looks very aesthetically pleasing. I enjoy your games.

He miscalculated and the line worked because earlier in the game he sacrificed a bishop on h2 to win back a bishop on d4 and because of king placement i was able to go into said line.

Just played a 91.5% accurate game in the old queens gambit line where they try to hold onto pawn on c4 and end up losing rook in the corner.

Great video, and I have a question how do you make a plan in a positional slow game ? I always seem to lose because I don't have a plan.

It is a very broad and generic question for me to be able to answer accurately. It just depends on too many factors such as opening, structure, material balance, king safety etc etc.

Do you think every player needs to play e4 at some point? I used to always play the london but I transitioned into a d4-c4 repertoire. However, I saw some people such as JB say that they think that everyone should have some e4 exposure. Do you think I need to learn e4 as well?

It wont hurt but you can get plenty enough of understanding of dynamic play from d4. Kramnik hardly ever played anything but d4, seems to have done OK for himself... Same goes for Petrosian, Botvinnik, etc
