When you argue with your spouse, do you feel you both understand each other better after? Or do your arguments tend to distance you two further?
What I've come to realize is, the way we argue says a lot about our communication styles and for most of us, the way we communicate is completely ineffective. Which, unfortunately, says a lot about the respect we have for not only our spouse, but for ourselves.
Arguments in relationships are completely normal. I've said this in a past video and I'll say it again, even beautiful relationships have arguments. Arguing is not a problem IF you argue the RIGHT way.
Why is it important to argue the right way? Because so often, arguments can disrupt the TRUST in a relationship and trust is one the key factors to sustaining relationships.
In a past video I mentioned before called, 3 Ways to Have Better Fights, I get personal in my relationship and share how my spouse and I argue... I'm definitely not perfect but I do keep my own tips in mind while Andrew and I are in a heated discussion. Why? Because, our love is too precious to damage it by the need to be right!
The reason I am doing another video about this, is because I am seeing a pattern of toxic arguments occurring with my dear ladies, and these arguments are disrupting even the most precious of relationships. But, I got your back girl! Here is a video that comes with love about how to argue the right way!
Like always, we want to hear from you, how do you argue? Do you fight fair, or does your justice meter (the need to be right) get in the way?

i tend to struggle when it comes down to arguing. i instantly feel attack and a adrenaline rush. and then i fight back with words. this is something that i’m trying to overcome bc i don’t like making the people i love feel low. they should be able to come to me as a safe space to talk

Relationship coachs will only help ur relationship so far because reality is only the ‘ladies’ are watching this stuff self help stuff whereas your husbands and bf are’nt and will most likely continue being a jerk or pain in the ass cause he’s does’nt see any issue. As a man, and as someone who has studied healthy and intellectual arguing, I love your video. I would recommend that both men and women watch this for a healthy primer in how two people should measure themselves in an argument.

I don't see how men and women can romantically bond with each other. I heard that women can build incredible friendships and become very close to each other in a way men can't bond, and I heard that science shows that women can bond very well with each other. I heard that generally, women are even more social than men are. After something bad happens, a woman quickly rushes to talk to all of her female friends to get support, whereas a male can isolate himself and grief alone. I also heard that women tend to be more emotional, more caring, more empathic, more compassionate, more affectionate, more loyal, more nurturing, more sympathetic, more sensitive, more kind hearted, more peaceful, more calmer, more gentle, more expressive, and more outward than men are, and thus bond more with other women in a special way that they can’t with men. Men, on the other hand, are not that emotional, and thus can’t bond with other men in a special way. I also heard that women are more comfortable being around with other women than they are with men. They have a type of bond that usually men with women won’t really have, or with men and men. I also heard that most women like to do affectionate things with their female friends like cuddling with them, while most men would never do affectionate things with their male friends (especially not cuddling with them). Men are usually much lonelier than women are. Men don't often talk about their personal problems with their male friends like how women do with their female friends. I also heard that females produce a lot more oxytocin than males do. And that's a reason why girls tend to hug a lot more and be a lot more physically affectionate than guys do. I also heard that women are very unique creatures, and women feel a lot safer in general with other women than they do with men if either is alone with each other, and it is easier for women to trust other women more than it is to trust a man. I also heard that women are very sociable with each other, so if something goes wrong, they like to speak about it to each other. This is a way to develop trust among women. Women often relate their problems with other women, which makes them feel more connected in a way. I also heard that most daughters have a very strong bond with their mother, while they don’t have one with their father, and most sons don’t have that strong of a bond with neither their mother nor their father. I also heard that most females have a very strong bond with their sisters, while they don’t have one with their brothers, and most males don’t have that strong of a bond with neither their sisters nor their brothers. I also heard that the bond that two females have with each other is the strongest bond of them all, and that's one of the reasons why sayings like “girls always have to stick together” exist. And I also heard that the friendship of males and females can hardly be as good as a female to a female relationship from a woman’s point of view. So if those things are true (which I am not sure at all), then how can a man and woman have a special strong type of bond with each other if women have a special strong type of bond with each other while men don’t have one with each other? Also, men and women are both mentally and physically different from each other (which is true), but would that at all effect the bonding between a male and female?

icysnow57 cold sounds like you just need to meet a healthy straight couple
@icysnow57cold64
@icysnow57cold64 4 года назад
@@TimTamSlam7 Men and women are wired differently from each other and women produce a lot oxytocin than men do. Here's a quote I found on the internet about men's brains may not being wired for much connection: "A 2014 study found that males had stronger neural connections in the parts of the brain responsible for perception and action, while females had better connectivity along the neural pathways linking analytics to intuition - two areas used heavily in interpersonal connection. Before this study, differences in these kinds of neural pathways had never been highlighted among such a large sample size (949 individuals)." Here's another quote: "So why are men and women different in the way they make friends? One hypothesis is the difference between the male and female brain. Typically, women tend to have a larger deep limbic system than their male counterparts. The limbic system is a network of nerves in the brain connected to instinct and mood. The limbic system controls basic emotions such as happiness and fear. Because this system tends to be larger in women, females are more in touch with their feelings and have an increased ability to connect individually with others." So because of women being more emotional and more affectionate than men are, and are able to connect a lot better with other women than they do with men or men with men, that would mean that men and women are not very compatible with each other.

These are fantastic points and I personally find many of them to be true in my life. I believe this is evidence of how important it is to have a diverse community of support. I believe it also demonstrates just how important respect is in any relationship, but especially romantic. Men and women are very different and sometimes in conflicting ways, but more often than not I that we are different in complementary ways… were one has weaknesses the other may carry a strength. By slowly down and recognizing the good and benefits we can have complimentary and mutually beneficial and fulfilling relationship. It’s when we expect our partner to be everything that we fail ourselves and them.

So I spent the last few months arguing with my SO. We are in a LDR and she likes Quality Time and it's her first relationship and she has Depression so it's pretty hard for her to acknowledge/express her feelings in a clear non-self-deprecating way because she's used to just being talked over. The things mentioned in this video? She did most of them. I tried to tell her how they made me feel but she took it as me attacking her and she would get defensive immediately and cry. It was only until watching this video did she seem to understand what I had been trying to explain for hours before with 4 articles and another video. So thank you. I don't think she was gonna wanna sit through the hour-long lecture about boundaries so I think it's fair to say I'm still in a relationship because of this video.

Me and my wife argue over the trash. Yesterday was trash day so I threw out all the trash and recyclables like I always do on Tuesday morning before go to work. Wednesday morning (today) I get a call from my wife at 7:00am with her yelling about how I never emptied the trash. Keep in mind I work two jobs and didn't even go into the kitchen , but according to her the trash was full. She's always throwing things out. She's acting like my life is easy because I work, work, shower, and go to bed.

Loving them is more important than being right. Unfortunately, that is a demand made from a woman to a man, and many times, it just takes her partner`s protest out of the way, a manipulation. She does something i don`t like or treats me poorly, if i raise my hand... do you want to be right or in a relationship? I raise my voice when frustrated, she says: say it in kind or I don`t listen. If I say it kindly, she feels safe to dismiss it. Every human has their own defense mechanisms. If you start peeling them off, there`s nothing left to protect you if the other one is manipulative and self-centered. Now, which gender, due to their survival nature, is more manipulative and self-centered?
