Hi Cody, my Boss sent me to RU-vid to watch a video on "How to ask for Referrals" . .It was the longest 4 minutes of my life and I rolled my eyes so hard, one of them got stuck. I am happy to say that your video was the exact opposite and although I am in imprinted promotional sales, I found your video much more engaging and actually educational. Cant do this with Medicare advantage or Part D but this works for Life insurance and all other lines!

Question Cody... We see great videos on how to get referrals. Awesome. May you give us some tips on how we capture that referral in our first conversation with them? How do we engage them in those first few seconds? Do we tell them they were referred or do we treat them like a cold call. Thanks for your expertise.

I got my script from one of my coworkers that came to my office one time (works in a different office), his referral script is: Warm up a little bit, introduce yourself. “Well prospect’s name, I spoke to our friend (client’s name) on (day) and I was able to help her out with (FE/legacy/retirement planning, etc). At the end I asked him/her for some people I should reach out to and YOU were the first person they told me to contact.” Then just ask when they’re available and set the appointment, end with a couple tie downs and he always says “I’ll see you (day) at…what time did we say again?”
