Will X50-DSL support this function soon?
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH Год назад
Couldn't tell you. We don't sell the Deco X50-DSL in the US and the videos on this channel are mostly intended for US customers. You should reach out to support@tp-link.com they may be able to tell you.

will this feature become available on the tether app?
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH Месяц назад
Not Likely. Archer Routers can operate on separate SSIDs so if you are looking to assign devices to specific bands then you would just want to disable Smart Connect and set separate SSIDS for each band.

Please add this to Deco M4R as well. In my country (outside us but the Mesh is US version) newer Mesh devices come at least 3/4 years later than the original. So, it is not possible for third world country like mine to enjoy latest things.

Release of a feature like this is based on several factors. We cannot guarantee every device, especially older models will get the feature or if they do when. The best thing to do is check our website every Friday for an update. This is when new content like frimware are added.

802.11k and 802.11v should automatically assign bands to a device. However, these standards are not in Deco specifications, hence the necessity to tweak WiFi manually.
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH 6 месяцев назад
Actually all Deco systems employ 802.11 K, V, and R.

We do not currently know the roadmap but in the US updates are added every Friday so I would recommend just checking our website each week

My Homewerks fan only works with 2.4GHz. My XE75 Pro mixes 2.5GHz and 6GHz and the fan will not connect to the network due to the presence of the 6E. Very frustrated.
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH 7 месяцев назад
6GHz would have its own separate network. 2.4 and 5GHz share a single SSID. You would want to log into the Deco app and make sure your main network is broadcasting on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. If it is then you would want to contact the fan manufacturer and see if their devices have issues working on a Mesh network.

what if the connection preference doesn't show up? i use a deco m5
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH 10 месяцев назад
Check TP-Link.com. Search for Deco M5 and click on support. Select your hardware version and click on Firmware. Make sure you see a newer firmware with the option for Preferred node or Preferred Deco. If you do then make sure you are using the lastest firmware to enjoy the feature. If you do not then the feature has not been added to your hardware version.

When is it anticipated to be available for Deco P9's? This is a massive feature and looking forward to it :)

We do not have that information. All I can say is that updates drop every Friday so you can look at our website mid to late afternoon on Friday to see if a new update has been added.

@@TPLINKTECH Do you have that info yet? It's disappointing on such a "premium" product that such a simple feature set isn't available, laughable really.

It is laughable. Being able to choose bands is not really a 'feature', it should be a given.

Does Tp-link Deco S7 support band selection function?
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH 7 месяцев назад
Don't know. the Deco S7 is not a product sold in the US. You would need to go to TP-Link.com and look at the products support page and the Firmware tab for release notes. If the S7 does support the feature it would be listed there.

Deco E4 is not a US product so we would not know if it is a model with this feature. You can reach out to support in your region to see if it has been or will be added.

Why is NONE of this in my DECO app?!?! There is no update available?! The more I get into this deco system the more I hate it. So many restrictions imposed on what you want/need to do with YOUR home network and devices. Promised these firmware upgrades that never happen. What a horrible experience with this crap. Total waste of money if you actually want to have any control over your network system. On your support list you have the X50 and X75, WHERE IS THE X60?!?!
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH 7 месяцев назад
The Deco X60 was released before the X50 or X75. It was also released before these features went into development. The list of compatible products in the video's description was the initial launch of the feature. As was stated you need to check our website TP-Link.com regularly to see if your product has been updated. For the X60 that page specifically is: www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/deco-x60/v4.6/. Since this video went up the feature has been added to the V3 and up of the Deco X60. V2 and V1 do not have it, and I am unsure if they will get it. As to Promises of firmware and features. TP-Link does not promise new firmware or features will be added to products, specifically so customers do not buy the wrong product or get their hopes up for a feature that may not come. Deco and Mesh systems in general are designed differently than a traditional router. What you call restrictions are done by design, by most manufacturers, to simplify the experience. Not everyone is a power user and Deco was designed with the general user in mind, who just wanted a simple management and a system that works. Single SSID, Auto-path selection, and automated network management are all Features of Deco and Mesh systems like it. This feature was developed after power users who wanted a Mesh experience requested more control.

You need to make sure 1. Your Deco unit supports the feature and 2. That the most current Firmware with support is installed. If both are confirmed please contact support.
@PercentageBreak
@PercentageBreak 11 месяцев назад
@@TPLINKTECH both are confirmed,you guys just make shit routers.Have 8 of them for a two floor house and still can't get decent wifi connection and the mesh system is dog crap.The routers aren't connecting to the best signal but for some reason to the worst one and the one that is away from them not close.
@TPLINKTECH
@TPLINKTECH 11 месяцев назад
@@PercentageBreak It seems that you misunderstand how the Units communicate With each other. All units in a Mesh network will attempt to communicate with the main unit. This is what you are seeing. Only in times when that main unit is out of range will a satellite unit connect to another satellite. This is because the throughput and network performance on that unit will be diminished when daisy-chaining through another satellite. As an alternative, you can use ethernet between two satellite units to create a stable backhaul. This is also for the most part how any similar mesh system on the market operates. The topology is more of a Star-topology than anything else.
@PercentageBreak
@PercentageBreak 11 месяцев назад
@@TPLINKTECH This is quite disappointing to find out. So in essence I spend over a thousand bucks on Deco units to have optimal wifi coverage of my house but because the system is crap and they can't connect to the one with the best signal to extend the network-I have horrible coverage and keep losing connection to the computer I actually need to have the good wifi on. So then..I could have achieved a better result if I had bought 10 range extenders and chained them off each other, correct? Cause then they would be connecting to the device I want them to connect.Also you have the option to connect to a deco in the app..why isn't that working? I don't want them to connect to the main one and you have the option to change that but it isn't working?! Honestly these Decos might be the worst thing I have ever bought since I have started buying things. It is a joke and pointless product which falsely claims it can cover a wide range but can't even cover 1/3 of what is promised. I don't care about having a non-working unified Wifi Network..cause it is not working.
