How to Automate Templates in VCarve, Aspire, & Cut2D

Have you ever had a project that you make over and over again but only change the text on each one? Well in this Vectric tutorial, I show you how to make a project template that you can change just the text and your toolpaths will automatically update without editing them. This is done by organizing your layers first and then associating those layers with your toolpaths.

I love the template feature. I use it quite a bit. The only thing I do differently than your process is the curved text. I reference my arc in the middle instead of the bottom of the area. Great job as usual.

Nice Chris, do you just make an arc in the center of the place you want it? So for this one you would make the arc like I did and then move it to the center of the box and use the option to center the text on the arc? That sounds like a much better way to get the text centered, thank you for sharing that with me.

@@LearnYourCNC Sort of. The snap feature snaps to the middle of the vertical line on each end of the box (which you know) so I use that as a reference for the arc line and it keeps me centered. More for reference than necessity.

Great tutorial Kyle. Is there a way to import text for the badge number and name in this example maybe from a spreadsheet similar to a mail merge in a word processor?
