This is probably one of the hardest things tho. To be aware of your surroundings and not get lost in the moment.

I gotta be honest. 50% of the reason i watch these videos besides the knowledge is just to hear this guy say “do you know what to do when m…” Kinda love it. He could any kind of content with this great intro like he could be in a public washroom sitting on the can, looks over, sees no TP. Looks into the camera “do you know what to do when there’s nothing to wipe with?”

Situational awareness or presense of mind, quick physical reactions or reflexes, mental strength or toughness, composure or self-confidence, resourcefulness, the instinct or the will to fight back and defend yourself, knowing when to fight back or when to just run away as fast as you can, avoiding people places and situations that potentially lead to heated altercations or violent encounters, and your martial arts/fighting/self-defense skills and techniques (if you have any or some) which you have spent long periods of time practicing and training, can drastically increase your chances of successfully defending yourself and surviving potentially violent self-defense encounters. Speaking based on my personal experience as a self-defense practitioner.

When I was training regularly, I saw some real fruit from practicing falls. I found myself flying off the hood of a moving car and I instinctively rolled forward (shoulder, spine, opposite hip) and was able to escape injury. I was shocked at muscle memory! Other than the road scuffs on my new shirt, I was untouched by what could have been a nasty situation, and gained vital distance that saved my life. Training works.

@BudoBrothers
@BudoBrothers Год назад
Why do you think that?
@black_grizzly
@black_grizzly Год назад
@@BudoBrothers because no one will come up from behind like that and knock them to the ground, either they will put a knife, or there will be a right hook. moreover, the attacker will not sit on top, this is not mma, he will just kick on the head. keep in mind that the attacker is also under stress and can act tough out of fear.
@BudoBrothers
@BudoBrothers Год назад
@@black_grizzly this happens all the time at schools and is a common situation seen in bullying
@black_grizzly
@black_grizzly Год назад
@@BudoBrothers wait, is this self-defense for schoolchildren? then maybe. but I doubt that it is possible to knock down to the ground like that. the assistant grabs the victim (coach) by the backpack and knocks him down with one hand, but the fact is that the victim's body is heavier and stronger than the backpack and the attacker's hands, I would recommend here to throw off the backpack and quickly turn around for a fight

that’s why weight class is a thing in fighting sports, when you’re that big there’s little that a smaller guy can do

@@radiantgrxnger Are you saying it's pointless to train in something when there's a small possibility of someone who far exceeds them attacking them compared to the average person?
@radiantgrxnger
@radiantgrxnger Год назад
@@hysterical5408 No. I’m saying it’s pointless training in a martial art that’s been proven time & time again to not be effective in neutralising a threat who far outweighs the victim physically. Anyone that tells you size doesn’t matter, has no experience in street fighting. Size absolute matters. My fundamental point is there’s very few martial arts, or self-defence training that have a proven track record of having the capability to neutralise a threat who’s physically superior to you. BJJ would be a unique example (which I can provide countless examples of) where a much smaller man is able to successfully restrain another man twice his size & strength.
@hysterical5408
@hysterical5408 Год назад
@@radiantgrxnger now that's interesting cause I study BJJ and I would honestly report the opposite most of the time. Not to mention how, once in a self defense scenario there's the possibility of multiple people ganging up on you and weapons. I'm a larger gentleman, 6'1 and overweight, I work at a Hostel and deal with violent situations a lot which involve both. The only value I put in my Bjj training is my stand up grappling because of that, though that could just be a difference in experiences.

Best thing is don't walk around like an idiot with your head down. All this is completely unnecessary. If you are already on the ground you've already done something wrong. Be Aware! That's why I always one strap so if someone grabs my bag I can easily release and run away or spin around.

BJJ by far, bar none, not even a debate.

We will have different views of what style is the best for self defense, but an over looked factor is the person behind the martial art or the willingness of the person or the persons ability to handle the : stress, adrenaline, pressure and to keep level headed during the self defense situation. 🤔

Well, the replacement for DUST has emerged. Listen to these monetization and clout chasing clowns that don't care about any of you, if you want to INCREASE your risk of injuries or death by NOT thinking intelligently during a robbery or physical attack. This is lazy and full-on rhetoric - but little else.
