I did this today..., it looks very easy when you doing this. I took me almost 2 hours. The baffles were super tighter, it was not easy at all. But now my bike sounds awesome! When i ride it for long time it's not that good, but hey, who cares about ears hahah Greets from Belgium!!

I used a band saw to cut just aft of the end plate and pulled out the baffles with pliers.. I like the look of the stock pipes but cutting where I did gave them a custom look and the sound to me is better than any aftermarket ones that I have heard on a Raider. I have owned mine for 12 years and Love this bike!

I guess when people want the Harley look and sound, they just buy a Harley. I know I am 100% glad I got my 2012 Yamaha Raider S in Raven black. LOVE IT! I have been debating getting the Freedom Proformance Sharp Curvy pipes as I love the look and they are in my opinion the best sounding pipes for our Raiders. But I do love the stock pipes look as they are huge and fit the bike. But after seeing this baffle removal and hearing it after words, I may just remove my baffles and keep the stock pipes.

Good job but la chopper exhaust sounds great and you can take rear wheel without removing exhaust. Plus you can change gear oil with no problem. Just letting you know. These bikes are great. Ride on!

How long did it actually take?
@PIIII9
@PIIII9 3 года назад
@@Prince2azznice Top took the longest at about 1.5 hours cuz the baffel metal face can tear away very easy and give you nothing to grab. Bottom was a little easier I think because shorter and less friction area.
@Prince2azznice
@Prince2azznice 3 года назад
@@PIIII9 I tried it this weekend! The top came right out but I’m struggling with the bottom. I believe my hole saw became dull after the top pipe. But, with one gone already… the sound is music to my ears and can’t wait to hear both pipes rumble!

Top baffle was a bit smooth. The bottom is currently giving me a lot of problems and just won't budge cutting further to get it free

Doesn't it affect the backflow resulting in a less efficient ride ? I wanted my Lexus GS400 to sound louder, so instead of putting on Borla's, I had the shop just chop the mufflers, and the low end torque was gone.

Does this take away from MPG or power? I’m buying mine next week and I was curious about it. Obviously I can research it, but hearing from someone who has done it is best. More maintenance on cleaning the inside? Any feedback would be great...you have a beautiful bike there

The only problem with metric cruisers....they sound like shit stock. I don't get it, pretty sure Harley and Indian both sound great with stock pipes. Love my VanceHines on my raider

That was true a while ago, but nowadays the Harleys sound like shit with their stock exhausts as well, I want a Dyna Low Rider S, the stock exhaust on that sounds worse than this one

MAX AUTO sorry friend but your bike is not well balanced. Obviously you never had mechanic courses. Any bikes or cars loosing power when they loose their mufflers. If you blow in a narrow straw and at the other end is a lager one, you do not and I said you do not provide.

@@gavrilyuk16 Sounds great! Was a pain to take out, but worth it!
@hossman8499
@hossman8499 Год назад
@@chauffeurmarco Wrong. The diameter of the baffles is smaller than the diameter of the exhaust ports and the rest of the exhaust. So your analogy is backwards. If you blow into a straw and the other end is narrower, its hard to blow through it. If you make the other end bigger, its easier to blow through it.
