Great tut! I would only add that once you have it balanced use your notes app to write down all your gimbal settings. If you use the same camera body and lens combo, you can use it as a cheat sheet and set up very quickly using the same settings.
I would love to see more gimbal videos. Perhaps a video showing you attaching an external monitor like the Atomos Ninja V or using an external battery pack so you don't have to take off the camera and swap batteries.
Oh my gosh PAL please help!!! I can balance the gimbal no problem with a 16mm prime (takes 2 mins) but I just bought the 16-55mm 2.8 and I cannot for the life of me get the tilt to balance, I've been stressing about it for 3 hours now I'm about to throw the lens out the window haha. No matter where I put the plate it either heavy or lighter, it just still falls forward. Please good sir, I have an xt3 with no IS so a gimbal is necessary for me to film my videos.. I will buy you lunch or some beer haha please man, I know you get lots of these messages and I know you're a busy guy so THANK YOU for taking the time to read this even if you don't respond haha I appreciate you and your videos I'd be lost on the fuji system without you. Any forums or anything you can even recommend to figure this out.
Maaaan I appreciate you! Seriously! Bought an XT-3 a couple months ago because of your videos, now I'm hooked. Thinking of upgrading to the XT-4 for the in-body stabilization! Looking for the best setup for run and gun right now, that's what I need for my RU-vid Videos! Either way Thank YOU! Any recommendations for smooth zooms on a gimbal or tripod? Don't think its possible handheld with the XT-3 unless I go OIS. I just invested in the 16-55mm 2.8. I would be lost without your videos!
You should sell that and buy the ronin src2. The focus dial works with the xt3 and as does the video button. It is the only gimbals I'm aware of that does this with the xt3. But the aperture isn't accessible via the gumball.
It’s like your read my mind!! I was looking for the best gimbal for the xt3 and xt4 but I didn’t know if it truly supported the fujifilm settings and control. Can you confirm if the dji rsc2 works reliably with the Fuji xt system? I’m aware of the supported cameras but I’ve read some comments on some sites regarding compatibility issues with fujifilm. Thanks for all your work.
Oh my good I was looking forward so much for this after the Image stabilization video. I bought my XT-3 on 2019's christmas for filmmaking mainly... and felt so angry when the XT-4 released and had the IBIS!
I got my X-T3 around the same time. Of course my hands itch because having the latest iteration is great. But you know what? Th X-T3 is such an incredible piece of kit, I will be rocking it at least until the X-T5 comes along.

Amazing vid as always! Picked up a Ronin SC for my X-T4 / 16mm 1.4 and have been having lots of fun with the add-on Ronin focus wheel. Would love more Ronin SC vids! Keep up the great work :)
I have the RSC2 and have tried everything humanly possible to get balanced. I can balance 2 of 3 axis, but never all 3. I'm using an R5 w/28-70 f2L (heavy lens). I've even tried counterweights and I'm able to get 2 axis balanced, but that's it. Any ideas or where I can get some additional help?
HI man! how can i control the camera settings straight from the gimbal itself instead of from the camera?? is that possible? I mean if i film in manual mode and i would like to change the settings because i expect frequent light changes.. question 2: without focus motor setup, which is the best way to handle auto focus with fuji camera? i mean i keep face tracking on and i usually use the stick to move the focus...how can i do the same with the gimbal in a smart way?? For some reasons I couldn't get my DJI RSC2 combo to work with my Fujifilm XS10. The record button on the gimbal doesn't work. I need solution please. Any one with similar problem?
12:56 Please, can someone tell me why my Ronin SC doesn't face forward like his does when he makes the holding stick horizontal like that? My XT4 with 16-80mm kit lens ends up facing too far down. Even after my Ronin app balance test shows Excellent on all parameters. Everything else moves fine except that. Please help!
I have an issue with my XT3 and this gimbal; I can not connect them together correctly. I connect USB type C to the camera. The connection just shows the charging sign. By the way, I adjust all the settings recommended here like USB tethering to Auto. Nothing works at all. I do update both the body's firmware and the gimbal's app. Someone can help me, please. I own a Ronin SC and XT3 but I’m on the fence on buying a battery grip for my XT3. Any idea if it’s possible to balance the camera + battery grip on a ronin SC?
I experienced the display black out when shooting video with SC2 and X-T4! Is there something in the menu I need to set? Love to learn more gimbal operation from u. Tks.
If anyone hears their motors rumbling like crazy after balancing, go into settings and restore gimbal parameters. I couldn't figure out what was wrong and that fixed that problem. Also remove the focus wheel attachment before updating the xt4 firmware in the ronin app.

After the new firmware update we have much more options (thats why i'm deciding to buy one /did think about weebill s too). Finally w R SC we can: Capture photo Start/stop recording video Pull focus electronically Trigger auto focus Cheers
@@bobslej seriously you can pull focus electronically? Wow i currently have the weeble S and that one feature i really want.. other cameras are able to do it on weeble s but not fuji...i can only start/stop record and change iso and shutter speed

I am happy with the weebill S actually it can handle any amount of weight and it has more headroom than ronin. It can handle my XT4 with the 16-80mm lens easily. But electronic focus pull is a big deal hope Zhiyun adds this with a firmware update.
I just came back from Disney World. I have the XT-4 with this gimbal and I think my biggest issue was just setting it up for dark rides and then going back to my shoulder strap for photos. Trying to take photos on the gimbal kinda works, but I feel like I have less control of the camera that way. I went back and forth so many times for videos/photos. Every time I took off the plate I'd have to rebalance it because it slid to the side a bit.

Hope you don't mind me butting in, but from a past video Chris says he recommends a gimbal for the X-T4 video anyway, and in another comment here, he turns IBIS off when in gimbal. He loves the X-T4 battery. IBIS is great to help more for low light photography with no flash. And then there the flip-out screen. Obviously you're asking due to the price difference (otherwise it would be X-T4). I went with a used X-T3 (used X-T4 are harder to find by), but only because I made a long term plan to use that as a B roll camera and upgrade in the future for IBIS, & hopefully higher 4k fps. (plus I didn't want to support Fuji removing the head phone jack, really). I do wish I had IBIS (and flippy screen) now, but it's your money.
I´ve got a question. I just recently bought an X-S10 which apparently isn´t compatible with this gimbal (yet?). What does the compatibility mean? It should still work fine just as a gimbal but I guess the cable wont work to start/stop recording videos? Do you think the X-S10 will be compatible in the future? IBIS alone sadly isnt enough for many shootings. BTW, thanks for the videos
I SO have been wanting to get a gimbal, but never knew which one would fit best with my X-T3. Now I have my answer, and will be getting one for my birthday in a couple of months. So YES please on the more gimbal vids.
Question here: my XT-3 signals disconnection while connected to RSC by USB-C. The sign of connection kinda twinkles and doesn't perform as it should be (I can't use any specific mode in the app). Is the problem in USB-C cabel or did I do something wrong?
Hey chris, any chance on sharing a proper workflow with fujis's "auto transfer" mode and if it can be applied to folders? fuji's on camera file management is terribly slow... just trie deleting individual images off a card.. you can't even set a range.. and it takes FOREVER. Also the on-cameras "auto transfer" on/off switch appears to do nothing. It appears to always want to transfer despite having auto transfer off! Thanks!!!
Wow...that is so helpful...even though I don't yet own a Ronin or similar gimbal, knowing what's involved and the caveats (esp for us zoom lovers) helps with the decision process. Plus, knowlege is jist plane fun. 😉 I actually do have a gimbal, but I don't have to balance it...it's the DJI Pocket 2. I carry it in a soft leather glasses belt case or in my coat pocket. Fun little beast.
Interesting, how about the small kitlens 15-45mm. The focal length doesn't changed that much, although it does move a little then goes back to its normal length. Does it affect the gyro stability of the ronin sc?
Fantastic video as always. The XT3 cannot be controlled from the switches on Zhiyun Weebill lab.....what a shame the two are not fully compatible. I picked up the weebill lab when Ronin SC wasn't released.
Would you recommend the Ronin SC to an XT-2 user? I would like to have an easy time focusing on a subject while moving the camera. I'm choosing between the SC and SC2. I was wondering if the splurge would be worth it.

I do real estate photography, I use the 10-24 Fuji lens. Can you recommend a good 3rd party prime less? I bought the Viltrox 85 and 56 on your recommendation, they're both great, especially the 56.

I knew I didn't know what I didn't know. I learnt & discovered so much in so little time, with so much ease, in this video. I could walk up to a gimbal now and pretend to know what I'm doing, and I've never touched one or seen one live in action! Yes please do more! Here's another aeroplane analogy: Never in the field of human gimbal use was so much learnt by so many in so few minutes.

Thank you for the refresher on balancing, I so wish you had this video out a year ago when I first got my Ronin SC to go with my XT3, took me a bit to work it all out. Because of lockdowns I've only had a few goes with my gimbal and have been itching to get out with it so your video couldn't be better timed. I'd love some more videos on using a gimbal.
