What test strips do you recommend for testing spa water? Like to have an associated application that tells you how much to add etc. Thanks, great video by the way! We are using Bromine.

I like any standard bromine test strip. Insta-TEST or AquaChek

Hi Brian random question. In your opinion which do you think is better the Sundance maxxus vs Sundance Claremont

Good afternoon, I would ask youself this question. Do you value the low profile? This makes it super easy to get in and out. Do you value the coolers? This allows you to have a bottle of wine on ice or another beverage of your choice. Customers also use it to store their towels and kids toys. There's a cooler on each side of the SunDeck. Do you value the SunDeck? This is a place you can jump up and sit on to cool off when you get hot. If the answer to these questions are no, buy the Maxxus. I personally didn't value those things so I own an 880 series myself. Thanks, and hope this helps!

Hi Brian, I would love to use chlorine tabs in my Hydropool swim spa and be able to keep chlorine consistent instead of spikes like you spoke of, but my local dealer only sells granular chlorine for swim spas. What brand of chlorine tabs do you recommend for my Hydropool? Your videos are very informative. Thank you.

Good afternoon, we use Bioguard 1" chlorine tabs. 1" chlorine tabs is the key so they sit in the down pipe of the filter canister. Hope this helps!

Does a spa clarifier usually make your spa interior slippery and create foam? My chemicals were fine before I added some and now slippery and foamy.

Good evening. Clarifier should be used sparingly. Do you think it’s possible you added a little much? If you add a little to much it can create a bad scum line, foam, and scaling. Good rule of thumb is to never add more than one ounce at a time. I also would add it when everyone’s done using it. In other words, add it when no one is going to use the hot tub and let it go through it’s regular filtration cycles. I wouldn’t turn on the jets, let it run through the system with no one using it for 12 hours. The instructions on back of bottle aren’t very detailed. Once it finishes, clean the filter. Doing it this way will give you the best result in my opinion. Hope this helps!

We’ve had our Hydrapool 16’ Aqua Sport (2000 gallons) for one month now. Our local rep is recommending the flip frog for the mineral and chlorine application. We have the larger frog for 2000 to 10,000 gallon spas. The frog is set on zero, as per the instructions we were given. The problem is high chlorine levels in our spa. At one point I removed the frog from the spa for two days and saw the chlorine level go down to normal. I put the frog back in and the chlorine is high again. I’m a little confused why we weren’t given chlorine tablets to put in the inline filter dispenser, I’m not excited about paying the high price for the frog cartridges and want to start using the inline dispenser. If I add chlorine tablets like you demonstrated in this video, how do I add the minerals which are in the other half of the flip frog system. Any guidance is appreciated we are new at this.

Good evening, we tell our customers to use the inline system which comes with it and that would be my suggestion. Our customers are very happy with it. If you want to use the flip frog you can but you need to set the chlorine lower if it's uncomfortable. The cartridges are set per your use level. The more you use it, the more chlorine you'll need to maintain it. Don't forget to balance the pH as that's very important to whichever system you decide to use. Hope this helps!

Good evening, a swim spa is really a pool and doesn't really require a nature2 or the minerals you're referring to. Hope this helps!

I will be getting chlorine tablets for the inline system in about 10 days when I take a water sample in for testing. I won’t be using the flip frog anymore. They claim you’ll use less chlorine because of the minerals added by the frog system. So far the water test we perform via the test strips have shown good Alkalinity,PH, and Hardness. The Chlorine is 5 PPM which is the highest the test strip goes up to. I’ve removed the frog. The Spa is covered all day, we’ve been using it after dark which is why the Chlorine hasn’t come down over the past two days. My research suggests that Bromine may be better for us. I keep the temperature at 100 degrees. Question: if I let the chlorine levels come down to the low end of the test strip, can I switch to Bromine without any problems?

@@mattvogel5712 Good afternoon, I would use 1" chlorine tabs if it were me and keep levels low around 2ppm. That's what we do! Hope this helps!

@@mattvogel5712 Good afternoon, if you're going to make the switch, I would suggest draining and refilling it. Hope this helps!

Sundance optima or cameo if you had to choose?
@atlantahottubcenter

Good evening, they’re both great hot tubs that are just slightly different. Same size but one has a lounge and one doesn’t. Really it’s all about what you value and need. If you’re looking for leg therapy, I always suggest a lounge. The benefit to the non-lounge model Optima is the foot dome. The foot dome avoids footsies. In other words, with a foot dome all four corner seats have foot jets and people will naturally put their feet there. The benefit of the lounge model Cameo is that you get a lay down seat but more than that is the additional leg jetting in the lay down seat for leg therapy. If you could really use the therapy benefits for your legs, buy the Cameo. Hope this helps!

Ultimately, I like the benefits of a lounge so I’m a lounge person
